Co-operative effort
Due to an excellent co-operative effort
between the students and teachers of SDHS,
(and the weather), a smoothly run, and
extremely successful "W inter Carnival" was
presented to the residents of the Seaforth
area on December 6. The Carnival was well
supported by the community. All those who
were involved in the carnival should be
congratulated.
The Carnival was attended by students of
the town's elementary schools, many senior
citizens and local residents. The organizers of
the Carnival, Mr. Howard and Mr. Johnston,
would like to thank all those who attended,
the merchants who made donations toward
the penny sale, etc. and all the students and
teachers who made the carnival possible.
The Carnival raised approximately $2300.
The Celebrity Auction was very popular,
nosing over$500. The highest sale was a pair
of basketball shoes autographed by the
"Utah Jazz" basketball team. Mr. Hook
bought them for 558.00. The games of chance
raised between three and four hundred
dollars. The arts and crafts raised $700
Organizer Mrs. (Bishop soul because of the
support n(the public and the students who all
brought something made the bake sale
successful
Everyone involved felt the Carnival was a
better way to raise money than by selling
things door-to-door. The organizers hope to
hold another carnival next year. The next
Carnival may be held outside during a warm
weather season. This would give the
opportunity to have many more games,
booths and maybe even a dunking machine.
