There are many kinds 01 gilts you could
give to someone but there is only one gift that
is the very special kind of gift to give. That is
love
'i'thnk of all the children .who live in foster
homes and ones who live in streets. Do you
think they get the kind of love we do? Not
likely because the children who live in the
streets probably don't even have torrents to
love them. Arid children who live in foster
•home. prnhabh' don't get the kind of love we
do either, but they get some love. Both
children from the luster homes and children
who really desperately have to live in the cold
freezing streets need the love that we get.
It s not fairthait little children ages three to
to have to live in freezing, crummy streets.
Na warm cozy beds with •quilts on them to
sleep in .(night • or yummy turkey dinners to
eat at Christmas.' So fora very special gift at
Christmas nine would he love.

MY CHRISTMAS WISH
BY SHARON SHANNON
Grade 7
Seaforth Public School
If I had one wish at Christmas that would
help the world I would wish!!! •
'would wish that clothes and food, animals
and other things wouldn't cost so much. I
would wish you could get clothes for 50e and
hills wouldn't be so much. Cars would be $30.
and houses would be $40. Then you could
give the poor lots of money, because they
don't have money. You could buy food for
30c. But you wouldn't want everything too
cheap. Then farmers wouldn't grow any of
their crops because they could buy food,
women wouldn't plant gardens and the world
might run out of food, So i wish that
everything didn't cost so much.

If i had one wish at Christmas 1 would wish
that all the wars in the world would end. The
battles I would want to stop are in Lebanon,
South Africa, and in many other places.
I think peace is much better than war, I
don't see why anyone would fight over a
useless cause like land divisions or - blaming
someone fora hijacking. War kills too many
innocent people. I think war should be
abolished and the world be forever at peace.

.lust think. Wouldn't the world he a whole
lot better if there weren't world hunger, and
-city wars to conquer? The world would be a
better place if for example, the hunger, the
sickness. the poorness of homes, and clothes
in Ethiopia were tended to and if the wars
between the blacks and whites in South
Africa. II' I had just one wish I would wish for
this great world that God created to be better
if there were no famine and wars. Christmas
would he happier for all of us. There would be
peace between tribes, countries, cities and
families ()ur place in the universe would no
longer be gloomy with darkness, but would
sparkle with sunlight, If l had just one wish at

If f had one wish at Christmas what I would
like see happen in the world it would be that
all weapons for war would be destroyed
because when enemy troops are at war they
could ruin people's homes and vehicles. They
could also lose people they loved. Either by
being killed or starvation.

If I had one wish it would be that the
governments of the world could finally agree
with each other and themselves.
The governments have no faith in each
other like the U,S.A. and Russia, Both are
afraid that if one of them lowers its defences,
the other will attack. Other things like when
the Canadian government threatens us with
free trade, The people are against this and a
dispute has been aroused. The last dispute
between government groups against each
other
If just once, the governments could get
along. there would be a lot more peace and
happiness in the world,
