Seaforth rink wins bonspiel
A farmer's bonspiel sponsored by Top-
notch Feeds Limited was held December 11 at
the Seaforth Curling Club with teams
attending from Listowel, Mitchell, Kirkton
and Vanastsa, as well as the surrounding
area.
First place winners of the first draw was a
team skipped by Dave Ste. Marie of Seaforth.
Second place went to a team skipped by Eldon
Ballantyne of Mitchell. '
In the second draw Bob Jarmuth's team
came in first and Bob Fotheringham's team
second.
RECREATION PREVIEW

Exhibition hockey , game planned
(In Sunday, December 22.'1985 there will
he an EXHIBITION HOCKEY GAME be-
tween the Seaforth Midgets of 1985-86. and
the Seaforth Juveniles of 1964-65. The game
will start at 2 p.m. Come out and watch some
exciting hockey.
There will he FREE PUBLIC SKATING on
Saturday. December -28 at the arena from
1:30 3 p m. This free skate will be sponsored
by the Oddfellows and Rebekahs community
group of Seaforth. Bring the whole family and
enjoy an afternoon of skating.
The CENTENAIRES' next home game will
be on Friday, December 20 against the
Tedford Browns. Santa Claus will be al this
game giving out treats to all the kids.
Don't forget to register for the MID
WINTER PROGRAMS. You may register
today at the Recreation Office located at the
Community Centres or phone 527-0882.

Ian Doig retains title
Ian Doig has just returned from Bermuda
, where he successfully defended his title at
the Belmont Amstel Golf Championship held
at the Belmont Golf Club in Warwick,
Bermuda, The win marked the first time a
professional has defended his title in this
event.
Mr. Doig said he was confident going into
the tournament because, "the golf course
suits my game,"
it „linrho,t rhe tnnnlarnent win by
shooting scores of 71, 69, 71 and 67 for Jf 278
finish in the four-day event. He earned 52,000
fur the win.
Dan Di Rico of Boston finished second to
Mr. Dtiig, but eight strokes off the pace with
his four day total of 286.
• Also competing in the tournament was Ken
Doig Senior. H.e finished 24th overall with
scores of 79. 74, 79 and 75 for a 307 finish.
That total earned him an eighth place finish in
the amateur division of the tournament.
Pee Wees tie and win
Seaforth and Palmerston played to a 6-6 tie apiece. Drawing assists were Brad Schroe-

Novices pound Clinton 15-1
The Seaforth Novice hockey team hosted
('liciton Saturday and came away with a 15.1
win. Leading the. scoring for Seaforth was
Mike Weber with four•'goals with Joe Murray
assisting on two goals and Harold Hugill and
.lust in Rodney on his third goal.
Mike Devereaux also scored four goals
with Wayne Schoonderwoerd assisting on
two goals. tither goals went to Mike Watt

Seaforth's next game is Saturday in

travel to Milton where they will he hosted by a
team coached by an ex''Seaforth resident,
Jack McCall.
