The program opened with a recitation by Chad McCallum. Santa Claus at the end of the program was a welcome visitors to all the children, PEOPLE Saturday evening Idella Regele and Norman Hubley entertained for a house warming, Pearl and Harold McCallum, Paul and Dianne McCallum, Ron and Betty McCallum, Chad and Janice, Hazel and Victor Ward of RR 1, Walton, Larry and Marsha Nevers of No. 4 Walton, Bryan and Sharlene McClure and Amy of RR Seaforth. Joy McCowan of RR 4, Walton spent November 11 to 21 as the guest of Mr, and Mrs. George Drips and Ruth Drips at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, While there they attended the American Saddle -Bred horses at Kansas City Missouri for four days and also visited the breeding farm of Dr. Allan Raun, DVM at Des Moines, Iowa. Joy McCowan of RR 4, Walton, and Joan Breeders, of Toronto, attended the annual meeting, dinner and dance at the Saddle bred Horse Association of Ontario, American, held at Red Oakes Inn in Peterborough. Church decorated for Christmas-. party McKILLOP COUNCIL — The 1986-89 McKillop council met last week for the first time. It consists of Marion McClure, clerk; Marie Hicknell, reeve; Bill Siemon, deputy -reeve; Wayne Dolmage, roads superintendent; Brian Campbell, councillor; Lorne Glanville, councillor and John George, councillor. ' Mcllwraith photo Walton Correspondent MRS. BETTY McCALL. 887-6677 Twenty ladies attended the Christmas meeting of the United Church Women of Duff's' United Church last Wednesday •evening. The basement was decorated in the Christmas theme with tables set with green and red for the potluck supper that preceded the general meeting. Bonnie iamble said grace. Edith W ey made a cake for Annie Reid, a candle was lit and Happy Birthday was sung to Annie to celebrate her birthday of December 2. Walton 2 unit was in charge of devotions. Marilyn McDonald opened with a Christmas message. Christmas hymns were sung with Marie McGavin the pianist. Karen Hoegy and Pearl McCallum read scriptures followed with prayer. Several numbers of special Christmas music was supplied by Gloria Wilbee, Margery Ritchie read a poem and Helen Craig assisted Marilyn McDonald in a reading. Helen Williamson and Margaret Craig also took part. The (amble girls, Liz, Barb and Sarah sang accompanied by their mother, Bonnie at the piano. The offering was received and dedicated. A Classic Christmas Storywas presented by Marilyn McDonald. Viola Kirkby led in a short inspiration service for the outgoing officers and incoming officers, each lighting a candle. Helen Craig presided for the business, opening with a reading. Minutes of an executive meeting in November were read by Marilyn McDonald. Leona McDonald gave the treasurer's report. A new cleaning list is to be made up by the new unit leaders. Heather McGavin and Donna Godkin will attend Toc Alpha in Toronto. Many upcoming dates were announced. The Candlelight service is to be held Christmas Eve, The general meeting for the New Year to be the following week, January 7 at 1:30 p.m. January 27 is the Presbyterial meeting in Exeter. Marion Godkin reported on the budget meeting, the figures suggested for thd'1986 U.C. W . Edith Wey read a letter from Seeds for Zaire. Helen Craig thanked all fortheir support and help through the very busy year. who She then called on Marion Godkin expressed her thanks to Helen for her leadership for the past two years. The new President, Marion closed the meeting with Prayer.
