Day.

Is that Perth the County or Perth the
town?
Apparently there is some confusion and
MP Dr, Harry Brightwell is as much a victim
of that mix up as anyone. It seems he often
receives mail for the federal member of
parliament from Perth the town and in a
reciprocal manner, that MP receives Dr.
Brightwell's mail.
There are other confusions. Some people
think Dr. Brightwell is from that eastern
Ontario town when he says he is from Perth.
But Dr. Brightwell wants to hear from his
constituents on the matter. In his household-
er mailed out last week, the MP tells of the
confusion and asks constituents if the name
should be changed, and if so, to what.
He makes two suggestions, Stratford -
Perth or Perth -Stratford. At least with
Stratford in the title there should be no
confusion as this festival city is known
internationally for its fine theatre. The
householder also provides , room for the
constituents to suggest a name.
If there is enough interest in a name
change, Dr. Brightwell would then have to
go to Elections Canada to ' have such a
change approved.
The',member of the federal parliament
from Stratford, Perth County is waiting to
hear from his constituents,
Capital project list updated
/The list of capital projects the Perth County
board of education would like provincial
funding for received its annual update
recently.
The list, put together by the capital
forecast committee, has a dollar figure over
$5 million. The committee's report is sent to
the ministryof education but projects are only
approved on an annual basis.
The school board is just completing the
new Hamlet public school and recently
received word a grant for $800,000 has been
approved for Bedford Ptiblic School. Both
schools are in Stratford.
For future years, the school board is
proposing a $1.2 million addition and
renovation project at Anne Hathaway school
in Stratford; a $538,000 addition project at
Milverton public school; a $728,000 addition
and renovation to Listowel's Eastdale Public
School.
In 1989, the school board would like to see a
$489,000 addition to Stratford's King Lear
senior public school and the following year, a
$406,000 addition to Avon public school in
Stratford.
A major project, totalling over $1 million
for Falstaff Public School in Stratford is
proposed for 1991 and in 1992 a $600,000
project is proposed for Juliet public school in
Stratford.
Three school buses, at a total cost of
$70,000 will be purchased for the north end of
the county this year.
Other proposals in the forecast include a
$144,595 roof for South Perth Centennial at
Rannoch, a $122,000 boiler replacement at
Mitchell Public School and window replace-
ments for various schools across the county.
