meet in Industrial hockey league action neither team knows just
quite how things will end up. This week the Rangers beat the
Canadians 12-5, reversing the

Novices win Exeter tourney
The Seaforth Novice hockey team heralded
a successful weekend as they won the A
championship of a tournament held in
Exeter.
It was the Novice., first tournament of the
year and the team members played three
strong games to win the championship.
In the first game Seaforth met Parkhill and
defeated them 6-2. Mike Watt had three
goals in that game while Mike Devereaux
came up with two and Joe Murray one in the
Seaforth effort, Assists went to Just[n
Rodney and Wayne Schoonderwoerd.
In game two Seaforth goalie Mike Moylan
recorded a shutout in a 7-0 win over Lucan.
Scoring for Seaforth in that game were Joe
Murray with three goals and one assist, Mike
Watt with two goals, Mike Devereaux with
one goal and one assist, Wayne Schoonder-
woerd with one goal and Jeff Ryan with one
assist. •
in the championship game Seaforth
defeated Ridgetown 6-2. Mike Watt put
Seaforth on the scoreboard first with a goal at
the 6:39 mark of the first period. Ridgetown
tied things up at 8:55 and went ahead in the
second period at the 1 :38 mark. But from then
on Seaforth was in command scoring four
unanswered goals.
Goals went to Wayne Schoonderwoerd
with the winner, Joe Murray, Dean Finnigan,
Mike Weber and Mike Devereaux. Assists
went to Joe Murray, Mike Weber, Mike
Watt. Patrick Cook and Dean Finnigan,
In other Novice hockey action Seaforth
defeated Brussels 7.1 on Friday. Leading the
scoring for Seaforth was Joe Murray with
three goals. Wayne Schoonderwoerd had two
goals, Mike Devereaux had one goal and two
assists and Mike Watt had one goal. Assists
also went to Harold Hugill, Jeff Flannigan,
Jim Crowley and Steve Mclnally. Scoring for
Brussels was Matt Lee.
Midgets successful in two games
The Seaforth Midgets were successful in
two hockey games during the past week.
In the first last Monday they rallied to a 5-3
win over Mitchell.
Mitchell opened the scoring just into the
first period with a goal scored by John Taylor.
Mike Schoonderwoerd scored the first goal
for Seaforth right after ending the first period
at a tie 1-I.
Ron Pryce and Joey Smith each scored in
the second period making the score 3-1 for

Mitchell scored just into the third period by
Andrew Tinning but Brian Dupuis answered
right back with a goal. Don Rohfritsch scored
Mitchell's third and final goal of the game
only to have Ron Pryce score again for
Seaforth before play ended.
Last Tuesday Milverton came to Seaforth
and were defeated 7-5.
Kevin Cooper opened the scoring for
Seaforth but with 3:40 left in the first period
Milverton tied the score. One minute later
Ron Pryce scored to make the score 2-1 for
Seaforth.
Just into the second period Ron Pryce
scored again only to have Milverton answer
back with two goals. Then both Kevin Cooper
and Mike Betties scored ending the second
period at 5-3 for Seaforth.
Milverton retaliated with two quick goals to
tie the game at five. Seaforth didn't let up so
both Mike Betties and Joe Smith scored to
give Seaforth the edge.
Junior Belles win three
The Seaforth Junior Belles won three of
four games. they played over the weekend.
in their first game on Thursday night, the
girls won 7-6 over Exeter. Goals went to
Tracey Fortune with two. Susan Rowcliffe
with two, Tammy Nash with 1 and Lisa
Henderson and Andrea Ribey also with one.
Tawnya Taylor did a great job stopping
some hard shots.
SEA FORTH - GODERICH
The girls' second game was against
Goderich. They came from being behind 3-0
in the first period to an eventual 7-5 victory.
Goaltending was great with Shelly O'Brien
stopping many shots.
Goalscorers were Tracey Fortune with
three. Lisa Henderson with two and Heather
McKercher and Tracey Sills each with one.
SEA FORTH - M ITCH ELI.
Seaforth travelled to Mitchell to play their
third game and came home with a 13-2 loss.
The girls played well despite the score and
the fact Mitchell did not want to play with
extended zones.
Goals were scored by Tracey Fortune and
Lisa Henderson. both unassisted
SEA FORTH - FOREST
The girls' last game was played in
Seaforth. They won 13-2 against Forest.
Goalscorers for this game were Tammy
Nash with four, Tracey Fortune with three.
Andrea Ribey and Use Henderson , both with
two and Shelly Nigh and Susan Rowcliffe
each with one.
Assists went to Shelly Nigh with three,
Kerry Stanley and Susan Rowdiffe with two
and Andrea Ribey. Tammy Nash. Heather
McKercher and Tracey Fortune each with
one.
Belles beat Forest 7-1
The Seaforth Belles played to a 7-1 victory
against Forest on Sunday at the local
Community Centres it was a fine game by all
the players especially the defensemen who
kept goaltender Leanne Whitmore well
protected all during the game. Tammy Taylor
led the scoring with three goals and an assist.
Lisa O'Dwyer, Jane Rowdiffe, Amy Vanden-
akker, and Lisa Calver had a goal each. Tracy
Taylor had an assist
On Friday evening the girls travelled to
Goderich to meet the tough Goderich team
Seaforth was handed its first defeat of the
season losing 6-4 Lisa O'Dwyer had two
goals for Seaforth, Tammy Taylor had a goal
and assist. Amy Vandenakkerhad a goal, and
assist,. Other assists went to Katrina
Lindeman, Tracy Taylor and Pam Campbell
The girls' next home game is Sunday.
December 8 at 5:50 p m against Forest
Petites record second win
The Seaforth Petite Ringette team record- gerich. Kim Rau. Cathy Devereaux. Robin

Atoms drop two tournament games
Atom hockey players travelled to Harriston
on the weekend for their first tournament of
the year. Things did not turn nut well for the
boys as they lost both their games but it was
great experience for future tournaments in
the hockey season
In the first game. Seaforth lost 5-2 to a
tough squad from Walkerton It was a fast
"end-to-end" game with John Moylan and
Brian Melady shanng net duties
Jason Belrttenmiller and Steve Dapple got
the Seaforth goals Steve Papple was the
Most Valuable Player for the game
In game two Seaforth met Exeter and lost a
3.1 decision. Steve Papple was the Ione scoter
for the Seaforth team. Stephen If icknell was
the Most Valuable Player for this game
Paul MoLIwain scores four goals
Paul Mcliwain's four -goal performance
and Jason Schoonderwoerd's three goals. led
the Seaforth Pee Wees to a 11-3 win over
Clinton, /last Thursday in Clinton. Adding to
the tally were Ted Sills, with two, and•Brent
Vandenakker and Jason Horan with singles.
Al the end of the second period the score
was 8-3 for Seaforth. in the third Seaforth
dominated adding three unanswered goals
Getting assists in the game were Jason
Papple and Ted Sills with two. and getting
one apiece were Paul McUwain, Brian Cook,
Karsten Carroll, Brad Schroeder and Jason
Horan.
Centenaires win one, lose one
The Seaforth Centenaires recorded one win
and one loss over the weekend in Junior D
hockey action.
In a Sunday game against Thamesford the
Centenaires lost a close 726 battle, Jerry
Wright led the Seaforth offense accounting
for four goals and one assist himself during
the 60 minutes of play. Dave Murray scored
the other Seaforth goals.
Assists came from Mark Johnston with
two, and Kevin Melady, Jim Campbell and
John Dale, each with one Goaltender Keith
McClure faced 42 shots on net
In an earlier game Friday night the
Centenaires soared to an 81 win over
Howick.
Top goal scorer in that game was Jim
Campbell who scored twice and added an
assist to his record John Dale. Kevin
Melady. Mike Betties. Mark Johnston, Jerry
Wright and Dan Wesenberg were the other
scorers.
Netminder Derek Cooper faced 43 shots on
goal
The Centenaires play their next home
game Friday. December 6 against Clinton
