He was 79. Born on December7, 1905, he was the son of Joseph John Ryan and Elizabeth Baker. On June 19, 1937 he married Rose Ella Johnson at St, Columban Roman Catholic Church. The couple made their home in McKillop Township and raised five children, daughter Rosemary of Calgary and five sons, Neil and Cyril,both of Calgary, Donald of Stratford arid Kenneth of Burnaby, B.C. Along with his wife and children, Mr, Ryan is survived by five grandchildren, three sisters, Madeline (Mrs. Robson Press) of Edmonton, Eileen (Mrs. Melvin Scott) of Fargo, North Dakota, Florence (Mrs. Philip Speak) of Woodstock, and two brothers Lawrence of Walton and Gordon of Montreal. Mr. Ryan was predeceased by a son Gordon, sister Marie (Mrs. Gordon Rowland) and by one brother Julies. Funeral services were held October 31 at St. James Roman Catholic Church. 'Rev. Caruana officiated. Funeral arrangements were made by Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Box Funeral Chapel. Interment was held at the St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Cemetery in Grey Township. Pallbearers were Lewis Coyne and Harvey McClure of Seaforth, George Blake of Brussels, Louis Rowland of Dublin, Archie Somerville of R R. 4 Walton, and Loyd Walker of RR 1, Walton. THE HURON EXPOSITOR, NOVEMBER 6, 1985 - /A15 FLORENCE CHAMBERLAIN Florence Chamberlain, 67, of 55 Spadina Road East, Kitchener, died at St. Marys Hospital, Kitchener, on October 25, 1985. She was the former Florence Neeb, a daughter of the late Henry Neeb and Emma Foerster and was born in Tavistock on June 24, 1918. She resided in Tavistock until moving to Kitchener in 1959. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin W oelfle in 1958. Surviving are one son, James W oelfie and his wife Patricia of Waterloo, one daughter, Ginger Florence of Kitchener, one brother, Harold Neeb of Tavistock and one sister, Mrs. William (Henrietta) Brown of Seaforth. She is remembered by four grandchildren, James, Tammy, Kelly and Chad and was predeceased by one daughter-in-law, Susan and two grandchildren, Kenneth and Usa. Friends were received at the Robert Krug Funeral Home, Tavistock, where a funeral service was held on Monday, October 28. The Reverend Forrest Mosher officiated and interment was made in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. bearers were Wayne Neeb Ind Bentley Neeb, both of Thamesford, Harold Woelfie and Spencer Weston, both of Tavistock, William Brown of Valleyview, Alberta and Leonard James of London. ERN EST M ICHIE Ernest Michie, of Belgrave, formerly of Morris Township, a retired farmer, died October 28, at the W ingham and District Hospital. He was 87 -years -old. Mr. Michie was predeceased by his parents, the late William and Elizabeth (Kirton) Michie; six brothers William, John, Christopher, Thomas, James, and Robert; and three sisters Elizabeth Grasby, Mary LANCiA Spaghetti. A funeral service was held from the M.IJ. Watts Funeral Home, Brussels on October 31, with Reverend John Roberts officiating. Burial in Brussels cemetery. Mr. Michie was a member of the Belgrave United Church and donations to the Belgrave United Church Memorial Fund, or other charity would be appreciated. Pallbearers were: Gordon Martin, George Michie, Harold Coulson, Ross Anderson, Ross Nichol, and Bob Grasby. Bob Smith was the flower bearer. IDA PEARL CLOSE Ida (Wambold) Pearl Close, 85, of Huronview and formerly of East William Street, Seaforth, died Friday, November 1, 1985 at University Hospital in London; Predeceased by her husband Al Close she is survived by a daughter Diane and her husband Jim Taman of DeLande, Florida. Also surviving are a brother George and a sister Susie, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Friends were received at the W hitney- Ribey Funeral Home and a funeral service was held Tuesday. Interment was in Maitlandbank Cemetery, Seaforth, Pallbearers were: Bill Campbell, Ken Oldacre, Bob Newnham, Ken Lingelbach, Jack Mellwain and Major Frank Golding. Residents add bus trip to their regular activities Residents of the Seaforth Health Care Facility (SHCF) added a bus trip up through Benmiller to their regualr slate of activities during the week. During the trip they stopped . at Harry Burgsma's animal farm where a barn for the wild animals was being constructed. Workers brought the animalR to the fence so residents could get a look at them. Another stopover spot was the Triple K in Blyth where residents were able to get an ice cream cone. Then it was back to Seaforth. Also during the week was a Hallowe'en party and dance. Both the staff and residents dressed up for the event. Marie Flynn and gang dressed up and provided entertainment for the party and dance, Mary Finlayson presented them with little gifts."A birthday cake was wheeled out with a pumpkin punch bowl Happy birthday was sung to those who became a year older in October, then cake and punch was served. Patrick Ryan gave courtesy remarks to the band for their contribution to the party. In other SHCF events Patrick Ryan finished first when the residents went bowling at Nobel Lanes, public school pupils helped residents with wheelchair bowling and Tom Handy, Elmer Bakscy Harold Walsh, Dennis Arney, Wilma Brill, and Madge Raines were winners in bingo. The ladies have been quilting all week and hope to have their work finished for the Bazaar draw on November 23. Lenny Bloomfield has been busy selling tickets for the bazaar. PEOPLE Barb Alexander was in to visit Cassie Nicholson. Viola Hemingway of Brussels was in to visit Finlay Ross, Marjorie Maloney was in to see Harold Maloney after he returned from the Seaforth Hospital. Gorrie and Mrs. John Burnett of Belwood PEOPLE Mrs. Ure Stewart visited recently with Mrs Clarence Diamond in New Hamburg Rev.
