District 4 men's representatives met at the Seaforth Club House Monday evening to prepare the districts schedule of tournaments for 1986 prior to being sent in to be printed in the Provincial Lawn Bowling Association Annual for 1986. At the tri county meet for seniors in St. Marys, Seaforth lawn bowlers Oliver Pryce (lead), Jean Lunn (vice) and Neil Bell (skip) placed third winning the bronze pins. St. Marys rink o ' Reg Near, Audrey and Lou Carndari wen first and received gold pins. Second place and silver pins went to Atwood's entry. Wednesday evening, October 16 at 6 p.m. will be the annual turkey banquet for lawn bowlers and associates to be held at Egmondville United Church. Tickets are available from President, Edith Dunlop, Thelma Dale and Bea Storey. Blyth hockey clinic planned Fundamentals In Action (FIA ), the national hockey skills program, will conduct a clinic in Blyth on October 21 from 5 to 10 p.m. with former professional Tom Williams providing the instruction. FIA, in cooperation with Canadian Tire and Pepsi-Cola, will be running clinics in 557 communities across Canada over the 1985-86 season, FIA, the brain child of former Chicago Black Hawk all star defenceman Pat Staple- ton, is a program designed to help young- sters, their coaches and parents get the most out of the game. The program is a series of drills that were carefully prepared by sports educators and our 18 instructors, all former professionals. The challenging and enjoyable drills empha- size game -like conditions and allow a youngster to improve all facets of his game by competing against the drill, not other youngsters. /The goal of FIA is to provide consistency and continuity in skill development by maximizing the use of practice ice -time. SPORTS NICE GRAB—The Seaforth Centenaires went on a goal scoring rampage against Howick Sunday. The game was the first home game of the season for the Centenaires. They won the game 12-2. Here Is one of the few times the puck failed to lodge itself in the Howick goal. (Mcllwralth photo) Centenaires clip Howick Hawks .• In a game riddled with penalties the Seaforth Centenaires defeated Howick 12-2 in Junior D'hockey action Sunday. . The game marked the club's season home opener and saw the two teams sharing 132 penalty minutes. The majority of Those came in the third period and included a loss of three players per team to game misconducts. Seaforth losses were Jim and Barry Campbell and Kevin Williamson. But despite the penalties last year's league champions, the Centenaires, exhibited little difficulty with their Howick adversaries. They tallied six goals in the first two periods while shutting out the Howick offense, then racked up a further six goals in the third stanza. Howick scored twice in the third period, both times while the Centenaires were shorthanded. Mike Bettles led the Seaforth scoring prowess recording three goals and one assist for the game. Mark Johnson and Jerry Wright were equally strong on offense scoring two goals and one assist each. Jim Campbell added one goal and four assists and Mark Stapleton, Kevin Melady and Barry Campbell each scored and assisted on one goal each. Tom Turner scored the other Seaforth goal. Assists came from Rob Core, with four, and Darrell O'Connell and Gerrard Ryan each with one. Seaforth goaltender Keith McClure stop- ped 31 shots on net and the Centenaires fired off 46 shots at the Howick netminder.
