Rev. Kenneth Knight conducted worship in Carmel Presbyterian church on Sunday. Dorothy Taylor presided at the organ. Choir practise will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to be present. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated on World Communion October 6 at the regular hour of worship. The P.C:W . are holding their October meeting at the Fergus Apiaries on Monday October 7, when they will be shown cake decorating and picture slides on "The Work of the Bees." M ambers are asked to meet at Carmel at 7:45 p.m. for transportation. NEW RESIDENTS WELCOME Dwight and Karen Mond and sons Jamie and Greg of London have purchased and moved into the former home of Lloyd' and Gloria Mousseau, RR 2, Hensall. The Mousseaux have retired to Southcott Pines, Grand Bend. Tuesday was "Open House" at the Hensall Co-op Nursery School. Next Tuesday evening the Nursery School is host' to a workshop for London and area teachers, so they can have hands -on -exper- ience with the computer and software and also take part in a discussion on the role of computers in our future. AID PROJECT—Ronald McDonald House In London received $1,000 as a result of "Huronia Days" staged recently by the Toronto Blue Jays at CNE stadium in conjunction with Ellison Travel of Exeter and Wingham. Francis Gay, The Friendship Book On Monday residents enjoyed a Sing -Song, of old time favorites, Joyce Pepper played the piano and Lorne Johnston accompanied her on the violin, On Tuesday, Rev. Bob Donnon provided a Church service. Rev. Donnon's four-year-old daughter, Melinda sang four songs. Thirty-six residents joined in singing. Having Melinda sing for us was a real delight. Thank -you for "Shining your light for us," Melinda. On Wednesday nine residents went bowling in Zurich. Men's high went to Neil Regan and ladies high, went to Stephanie Bosse, There were two Birthday parties held at Queensway this ' week. Best wishes go to Genie Deeves, Jackie Lowe and. Reta Potter. On Saturday the ladies enjoyed a social tea with the Exeter United Church ladies. It was a booming success. TWENTY-FIFTH Peter and Theresa Bedard of Mill Street, Hensall were honored on the occasion of their 25th Wedding Anniversary Saturday evening. Their family held a party in their honor at the Zurich Community Centre. Their family consists of five Peter Jr., Terry, Steven, Denise (Mrs. Ken Schroeder) and Colleen. Dancing was enjoyed to music by Mozart's Orchestra. Around 200 relatives and friends attended presenting gifts and best wishes. A delicious smorgasbord lunch was served and Peter 'and Theresa expressed their sincere thanks to everyone who made this event such a pleasure. Peter is an employee of Hensall District Co-op and the family has resided in the village for a number of years. Congratulations. Kippen Correspondent MARGARET HOGGAIRTH 262-6902 The sympathy of the community is extended to Lloyd and June Cooper and son Scott, and Jim and Beth Cooper, all of the Kippen area, on the death of Florence Cooper on September 23. Florence had been a resident of the Kippen area for many pars. 4-H NEWS BY PAULEI•FEPREDHOM ME Press Reporter The third meeting of Kippen 3 4-H club was held on Tuesday September 24 at Brucefield Church. The 4-H pledge was repeated and minutes of the last meeting were read by Theresa Van Dorp. The roll call was completed and books passed around to members to be checked. The name of the club was decided upon and it willbe known as " Kippen Kitchen Kuties." Members worked on making Cornish pastry and a enennut KIPPEN banana cream pie, which both turned out to be very tasty. Both work and home activities were discussed.
