HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Huron Expositor, 1985-09-11, Page 22A14 — THE HURON EXPOSITOR, SEPTEMBER 11, 1985 Major artist Participants are asked to provide their own equipment; any media may be used, watercolor, acrylic, oil, etc. The public is welcome to attend the slide presentation of the artist's work starting at 8:00 p.m. There will be cheese and punch provided. Saturday and Sunday the workshop will run from 9-5:00 p.m. STUDIED IN MEXICO Born in Belleville, the artist studied in Toronto, New York and Mexico. This year, she attended a six week color workshop at the Instituto Allende in Mexico. While her work has been hung in group 'shows since 1978, she has had solo exhibitions of her own.. This year; her work will be shown in Toronto at the Merton ENTERTAINMENT to hold Kincardine workshop A vibrant, energetic, bold and highly imaginative artist will conduct a three day workshop in Kincardine next month. Philippa Faulkner, who has work hanging in Windsor Castle in the Royal Collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, will host the seminars at the town hall Sept. 13, 14 and 15, Starting with a slide show presentation of some of her own work Friday night, two full days from 9-5:00 p,m. will form the concrete part of the workshop. She will concentrate on self -exploration rather than technique during her seminars here. Drawing and composition will /be stressed. Working out of a studio in Markham, Philippa Faulkner promises to provide a rewarding experience at the September workshop in Kincardine. We can wander the avenues and see • what is new in the agricultural com- munity at the "Tented City". Product displays, parades, dancing, ,t county exhibits, an antique exhibit and more. AN AGRICULTURAL MUST! Agawa Canyon September 23, 1985 Day 1 • Fall is everywhere as we travel north, board the Chi-Cheemaun to , • Tobermory and then travel to Sault , Ste. Marie to stay overnight. Day 2 • The famous 114 mile "Train Ride" into the fall filled Agawa Ca- nyon is the highlight of today's tour. Day 3 • After we take the ferry to i' Mackinac Island and tour about, we take 175 to Frankenmuth for an even- ing of great entertainment. • Day 4 - On our homeward journey we . stop at Genessee Valley Mall.
