"Garage" was the smash hit of the season last year, and if the enthusiastic full house that attended this year's opening night performance is any indication, it seems destined to eclipse the success of even the best of this year's Festival entries. ' The play follows a very unusual day, in the life of Revenue Canada field auditor Blair Daniels (David Fo)0. Daniels is the consu- mate tax man, capable of measuring a man's virtue "down to three decimal points." Fox plays his stereotypical role to the hilt and comes up with an engaging performance. There are no realistic character's in this play, but somehpw that does not detract from either the fun or the brilliant satire. His obvious elation, as he wades through the tangled state of affairs that pass for bookkeeping in the, garage, is a perfect example of "hamming it up," used to a production's advantage. Blyth veteran Robert King (also featured in Primrose School District this season) plays BROWNIES GIRL GUIDES REGISTRATION Seaforth Optimist Hall Tuesday, Sept. 10 7-9 pm. natinin Frank, the boneheaded mechanic. Frank, m addition to keeping the worst set of books imaginable, is the kind of mechanic who would give you nightmares if you thought he was working on your car. King is able to really cut loose in this role, displaying his considerable comedic talent to the fullest. Garrison, the owner of the garage is played by Ted Johns, who has a natural advantage in handling the material in this play because he wrote it. He puts a lot of depth into the character he created and really makes it work. Marriane Mclsaac, who plays Lorna Springer, the token voice of sanity in "Garrison's Garage," is the only one who does not have a lot to work with in this play. BRUSSELS FALL FAIR SAT., TUES., WED. "Garrison's Garage" runs for another two weeks in Blyth before going on tour throughout Ontario and New Brunswick.
