The Huron Expositor, 1985-08-28, Page 8a A8 -- THE HURON EXPOSITOR, AUGUST 28, 1985 Grand opening slated for Seaforth's newest station Seaforth's newest service station owner says he decided to go into the business because, "things just fell together." The idea pf opening a new service station in town "has been kicking around in my head for the last year or so," says Bob Rowe, owner of both Rowe Fuels and the new Texaco station on Goderich St. W . The business employs four people - Bruce Taylor, Lance Livingston, . Darren Crocker and Mary Hunt - and Mr. Rowe says reaction to his opening has been good. There was another Texaco station in town years ago, and "it was a good station," says Mr. Rowe. "We just thought we'd try another one." He's planning a grand opening celebration for the Labor Day weekend. The station will • be giving away drinking glasses until the end of this weekend. Hats; gas, movie rentals and video cassettes will be draw prizes and the first 500, customers will get free golf tees. A local businessman for many years, Mr. Rowe seems satisfied with his decision. "If Seaforth treats us as well in the future as it has in the past," he says, "we'll be very happy." Taking the initiative Something special happens when a new business opens - there is a feeling of hope and a sense of goodwill which surround it. Quite properly, people who have become hardened by unemployment statistics are as happy to hear of new jobs coining into existence. Seaforth has a new service station. It is Seaforth Texaco and Video, owned by Bob Rowe, a well-known businessman about town for many years. The staff of The Huron Expositor would like to congratulate Mr. Rowe on the occasion of his grand opening. W e trust and believe he will provide the people of Seaforth with many years of good, dependable service. Best of luck to him and all his employees.
