We never said goodbye.

Cold-flo Ammonia for corn silage.
It gives you high protein feed for 1/2
the cost of other protein supplements.
Here's why! Anhydrous Ammonia (NH1) added
to corn silage provides an excellent source of sup-
plemental protein for beef and dairy herds. And
NH1 treated corn silage is an economical source of
protein.
Using NH, on your silage improves feed con •
version. You use less feed for greater gains. And
cattle prefer the taste. Treating your silage with
NH, cuts down on spoilage because silage lasts
longer in the feed bunk.
4% increase in protein content. Beef or dairy
farmers adding 3.5 kilograms of ammonia per
tonne of silage (7 lbs. per ton) get protein content
increases of about 4% - at about I/2 the cost of
soybean meal protein supplements.
Research shows anhydrous ammonia
gives greater gains. University of Guelph
trials, taken over 3 years, show that treatment of
silage with anhydrous ammonia gives about an 8%
increase in daily gains - plus a 4% improvement in
feed efficiency over urea NPN added at feeding.
Speaking of his research
feeding trials with NH,
supplemented corn
silage. Or .lock
Rue rano, Srnuli of the
University of Guelph
says:
"Over 4 trials we found that steers fed ammo-
niated corn silage gained 7.7% more than those
steers on the control ration. And the cost of
providing protein and minerals for 650 lb.
yearling steers on ammoniated corn silage is onl
about l2(t per head a day. If you're spending
more than that, then you're probably spending
too much and wasting money."
The Cold-flo Ammonia NPN System
How to Apply
The Cold-flo Ammonia NPN System can increase the protein level of your corn forage
from about 8% crude protein on a dry matter basis up to about 12% crude protein - by
simply adding 3.5 kilograms of anhydrous ammonia per tonne of forage
(7 lbs per. ton).
For Beef Cattle For Dairy Cattle

that beef feeders can he

In studies at Michigan State University, cows fed am-
monia treated silage gave equal or greater milk production
than cows fed a grain ration supplemented with an equal
amount of protein from soybean meal. The big difference
is the reduced
feed costs with
ammonia treated
silage.
The palatability
of ammonia treated -
silage is excellent. with
consumption equal

untreated silage.
