The unbeatable Bossance, catch driving for
owners Frank Cook and Nancy Holmes of
Clinton, also steered the great trotter,
Speedy Gesture, to a win in a heart -stopping
rush to the wire, to take home the Seaforth
Freeze King cooler, presented by manager
Ron Riley. It was the 8 -year-old stud's first
win of the season, coming back after a layoff
last winter, with lifetime earnings of more
than $76,000.
Race fans are reminded that next week
Clinton hosts the Ontario Sires Stakes for
3 -y -o trotting colts, with the best colts in the
province competing for more than $30,000 in
purses.
Double header
at Hully Gully
The exciting sport of motocross Will once
again be featured this weekend at Hully.Gully
for two days of action packed excitement.
Saturday, August 24 is the second House
•League Trophy Day. Trophies will be
awarded back to third in their respective
classes. Registration begins at noon with the
racing taking off at 1:00 p.m. sharp. FREE
ADMISSION TO SPECTATORS!
Sunday, August 25, the juniors and
schoolboys will start tearing up the track at
10:30 a.m. , followed by the more experienced
Seniors and Experts kicking up some.di t at
12:00 noon.
Local riders will be taking on some of
Ontario's best on Sunday, with Hensall's Jim
Dickins and John Kouchan who both
competed very well at the Canadian National
Motocross Championships in Chatsworth on
the Civic Holiday Weekend. Brian Blackburn
of Exeter who also faired well at Chatsworth
will also be putting on the charge to his
competitors.
ATV action success
at Leamington
Riders from all across the province
competed for $1,000.00 in trophies and cash
prizes at the Leamington ATV Supercross on
Sunday, August 18.
CRC Productions of Clinton constructed
the track complete with jumps, hairpins and
big berms that tested the best of rider skills
and provided exciting race action for the fans.
Promoters of the event, The Leamington
Agricultural Society, hosted the event to
entertain just over 1,000 spectators from local
and far away places. Local riders, including
Paul Farquhar of Clinton who captured
second place in the 200 Modified class and
Chuck Collins of Varna with a first in the 250
Modified class, put on an excellent show
along with many other local participants.
The next ATV Supercross is scheduled on
September 22 at the Glencoe Fair.
Triebners honored

David and Ruby Triebner were honored at
a dinner at Btvcefield church hail by
members of their family on Saturday. It was
their 45th wedding anniversary. /An open
house was held on Sunday afternoon at their
home. Their five children and 14 grand-
children and four great-grandchildren were
all present.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Elliott. London spent
the weekend with Mrs. Hush Berry.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom O'Heire of Waterdown
spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn
Swan.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Scott and Graham of
W illowdale spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Ken Scott.
Dana Kloss and Kim Rathwell won a gold
medal in their class at the canoe races at
Peterborough on the weekend.
Grace McBride has returned from visiting
with her daughter Sharon Pine and family at
Brampton.
