W RIGHT REUNION
Over 40 Wright descendants gathered at
the Kirkton-W oodham Community Centre
on August 11. After an excellent buffet
dinner, Gordon W right, Mansfield, was
chairman for the group. •
The 1986 reunion will be held at the same
place on the second Sunday in August with
Gordon Wright as president and Laurabelle
Reichert, secretary. Esther W right's family
will be the sports committee.
Ivana W right and family, Toronto, came
the farthest to attend. John Urquhart was
the only one to wash his ear that day.
Gordon W right had the most articles in his
pocket while Marion Ready had the most
buttons on her dress. Laura Wright was the
youngest person and Gordon Wright the
oldest.
The person with a birthday nearest the
reunion date was James Wright. The person
wearing the most rings was Doris Jeffery.
Gordon W right, Hensall had the largest
shoe, Evelyn W right won the jar of bubble
gum.
Bells mark

The 1985 reunion of the Bells marked the
150th year of their being in Canada.
Approximately 80 family members gathered
at the home of Jack and Tove Bell on August 3
and 4 for the two-day event. It is held once
every three years.
Festivities began Friday with a welcome
wine and cheeese party given by Dorothy and
Bill Bell of Exeter. It was followed Saturday
with the usual pancake breakfast prepared by
Wally Walper. The afternoon sports events
were conducted by Ann Grigg and Marie
Smith. The Sunday morning church service
was held on the front lawn with Don Bell and
Graham Bell Sr. in charge. The theme was
"Faith of our Fathers." Following the service
Graham Bell presented a white bible to the
youngest member present, namely' seven-
month -old Blair Andrew Morrison, son of
Vicky (Bell) and Roger Morrison.

Haldeman and Laurel Ready won the
three-legged race, wheelbarrow race and
water balloon contest. The sports concluded
with a peanut and candy scramble for all the
children.

Productions, "Primrose School District 109"
Saturday afternoon and later had dinner in
Blyth.
David Wein of Ottawa is spending his
holidays with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Parker and Mrs. L Wein, Exeter,
and relatives in the area.
Hazel Corbett spent several days with
Evelyn Flynn at her summer home at Silver
Lake near Wingham.
McARTHUR REUNION,
Owing to the heavy rainfall on Sunday the
150th year
The .business meeting was held Sunday
afternoon and Jim Morris Sr. from Goderich
was elected "Chieftan of the Clan." He will
select his team to organize the next reunion in
1988.
Members present for this. reunion were
from Boston, California, Chicago, British
Columbia, Thunder Bay, Streetsville, . Tor-
onto, Halifax, London and surrounding areas
of Huron County.
TRAVELLERS
Paul Hoggarth has returned from spending
two weeks in South Carolina, where temper-
atures were in the mid 90's.
Al and Margaret Hoggarth spent several
days on the road visiting Manitoulin Island, '
Sudbury and Parry Sound.
CHURCH NEW S
Church services in St. Andrews will be
resumed on a regular basis on Sunday,
September 1 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Lorne
Keays_in the pulpit.

McArthur Reunion was held at the Caven
Presbyterian Church, Exeter. Over thirty
people from Toronto, Port Stanley, Blenheim
Zunch, Exeter and Hensall enjoyed the
buffet dinner.
Sports were conducted by Joan and Evert
VanSligtenhorst, Zurich. Sports for the next
reunion will be in the charge of Bill and
Donna Knights, Blenheim, President and
Secretary will be Evert and Joan VanSligten-
horst.
Rev. Kenneth Knight conducted worship
in- Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday
with Carolyn Love playing the organ.
. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Solway and family
took up residence in Hensell this week. Mike
is manager of Knechtel's Food Market.
An excellent attendance at the United
Church on Sunday morning witnessed the
baptism of Justin James Fields, son of
Mervyn and Jo -Anne Fields. 'The service
was conducted by Rev. Stan McDonald with
Delve Fuss at the organ. Sharon W urm
greeted the congregation and Dennis
Martin, Donald Stebbins were ushers.
The soloist for the day was Christine
Tremeer who brought two very beautiful
solos in the ministry of music. Following the
service the congregation enjoyed a fellow-
ship hour in the fellowship hall.

70 YEARS
Fifty-five relatives and friends gathered at
the Michie residence in Belgrave Sunday,
August 11. They were helping George
celebrate- his 70th birthday. Guests were
present from London, Ottawa, W Ingham,
Kitchener, Guelph,. Milton and Brussels.
The Johnston Reunion was held on
Sunday, August 1 I , in the Belgrave W .I. Hall
with 30 attending. All were interested in the
old family photos, belonging to Mary Lloyd of
Wingham. A valuable scrap book prepared
by Marion (Porter) Davidson of •Windsor,
containing old maps, historical pictures of
family groups and homes from years back up
to the.. present and a Johnston Family Tree,
was also on display.
Dick Porter of Goderich Township was the
1985.president. His -sister Marion Davidson
of Windsor was. secretary. The 1966 reunion
will beheld at the same place and on the same
date with Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Porter of
Exeter as President and Secretary.
PEOPLE
A family reunion was held for the Black
family on Sunday afternoon at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Black with 55 present.
Guests were present from London, Han-
over, Dungannon, Blyth, Brandon, Mani-
toba, St. Helens and Belgrave.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnston of Belgrave
and, Leila Johnston of Clinton accompanied
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Armstrong and Leanne of
Brussels on Sunday, August 11 to the Forrest
Reunion which was held at the home of Mr,
and Mrs. Robert Moore of Birch Run,
Michigan. Forty relatives were present.
Bill Watson of Scarborough spent the
weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Cook.
Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston of Ilderton
and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leitch of London
visited on the weekend with their parents Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Grasby.
Jeffrey Leitch and Tara and Erin Johnston
returned home with their parents after
spending a one-week holiday with their
grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby.
Sunday, August 25 will be holiday Sunday
in Calvin -Brick and Belgrave, Rev. Roberts
will be in the pulpit the first Sunday in
September.
