Approximately 60 friends neighbors and relatives attended. Betty Campbell played the piano while the guests were arriving. Nora Stephenson was M.C. for the evening, introducing the bride Juanita, her mother Erlene, the groom's mother Donna, the groom's grandmother Mrs. Gloor and bridesmaids Joanne Knight and Trina Watts. The program consisted of solos by Ruth Ann Watts and piano selections by Madeline Steiss. Yvonne Knight had two Contests and a reading and Kendra Fischer read an address to Juanita. Juanita thanked everyone for coming and for the gifts. SHERRY HE1BEIN Approximately 75 friends, neighbors, relatives and working associates of Sherry Heibein gathered in. the basement of the Presbyterian Church in Brussels last week to honor her with a miscellaneous shower. She is to marry Gary South. Freda Pipe and Alice Brothers played duets on the piano while the guests were arriving. Ruth Hinton pinned a corsage on the honored guests. Dawn White was Master of Ceremony and introduced BRUSSELS sees two bridal showers in week They are sisters Wendy Heibein and Janet Mitchell, as bridesmaids, the bride's mother Vi, the bride Sherry, maid of honor Brenda Gordon and the groom's mother Delores. The program was a skit by Nelva Scott called "Worrying," a solo by Carol TenPas, baton act by Lori Willie and Lara Parker and Betty Graber gave Sherry,some advice on "Farm- ing." Mrs. White read the address to Sherry. Everyone was thanked. CHURCH NEWS On Sunday morning the Presbyterian congregation again joined the United Church congregation for worship. The Rev. Charles Carpentier officiating had as his sermon "Is Christianity a Disease?" Prayers were said forJean McNeil, Lida Kerr, Elvin McW hirter and Laura Lucas who are in the W ingham hospital, John McLean and Cecil Bateman who are in Listowel and for Kenneth Bray who is in Victoria Hospital in London. The Jack Reavie Vocational Centre for Mentally Handicapped Adults in W ingham are still looking for volunteer help on a regular basis. Ten exhibitors showed 151 entries and a Junior competition added much to the success of the day with seven young people entering 64 items. Shirley Wheeler won the Vera Frain Trophy for overall points with a grand total of 92. Jane White had the most points in the Specimen class, Helen Dobson for Arrange- ments, Florence McArter for Houseplants and Isobel Gibson for Roses. The Junior trophies were won by Heather Somers with 19 points while Leanne Arm- strong won for Arrangements with 10 and Scott Somers for Specimen with nine. Alice Scott was in charge of the program. Mrs. Norman Coultes accompanied Gordon McBurney for some violin music. Mrs. Garner Nicholson read, and Clarke Johnston ' sang. Readings were also given by Olive Bolt. Mrs. George Johnston entertained on the piano. Mrs. Vannan and Mrs. Anderson lit the candles on the cake and everyone joined hands in singing Happy Birthday. On behalf of the guests Mrs. Hazel Procter expressed thanks for a lovely afternoon. Janisa Coultes thanked everyone who assisted in making the Birthday Party a wonderful success. 24th REUNION The 24th McBurney Reunion was held Sunday afternoon at the Belgrave W,I. Ken and Laura Barbour, just recently on a trip to Ireland, spent a day in Analong, County Down, McBurney's hometown. While there they met an Alex McBurney who they felt must be one of the clan. They also passed around postcards and pictures of Ireland. Next year's reunion will be held at the same place on the third Sunday in August with Carman and Carolyn McBurney of London as President and Secretary. Ian and Andrew Smith of London will be in charge of games. 80th BIRTHDAY Marlene Walsh of Kitchener and Mrs. Duncan ,Campbell of Kinloss hosted a birthday party for their mother Jennie Walsh at her home in Belgrave Sunday.
