Those voting against the public gallery plaque were; Hay Deputy Reeve Tony Bedard Tucketsmith Reeve. Bob Bell, Seaforth Reeve Bill Campbell, Hullett Reeve Tom Cunningham, Zurich Reeve Bob Fisher, Colborne Reeve Russel Kemighan, Exeter Reeve Bill Mickle, Osborne Reeve Gerry Front and Hay Reeve Lionel Wilder. These county councillors also voted against the five year plaque along with Reeves Aitchison, Armstrong, Austin, Brown, Doherty, John- ston, McBurney, and Weber. Those absent were McKillop Reeve Marie Hicknell, Blyth Reeve Tom Cronin, and Goderich Reeve Harry Worsen. County council voted 18 to 9 in favor of placing the plaque in the court house. An earlier motion to give county councillors a plaque after they have served on council for five years was turned down in a 17 to 10 recorded vote. Hullett Township Reeve Tom Cunningham said the five year plaque would be "pom- pous" and he. voted against both plaques. Colbourne Township Reeve Russel Kemig- han voted the same way as Reeve Cunning- ham and said the council would be forming a mutual admiration society if the idea of the plaques goes forward. "We are here to do a service for our county," said Hay Deputy Reeve Tony Bedard. Exeter Deputy Reeve Lossy Fuller spoke in favor of both motions. She said the plaque would point out to the children and grandchildren of county councillors the years they served Huron.
