Hensall Parker, Keyes reunite

The annual Parker -Keyes Reunion was
held at the Hensall Community Pant on
Saturday with 60 in attendance. A Birthday
Cake lit with 80 candles was part of the
festivities in honor of two attendants. Robert
Keyes, Grand Bend and Edgar Cudmore,
Hensall celebrated their 80th birthdays. The
cake was made and decorated by Judith
Parker, Thames Road.
Following the meal races were run for the
young and old. The winners were, Rebecca
McDonald, Ryan Parker, Tim Parker, Kari
Taylor, Bob McDonald, Rebecca McDonald,
Carla Dalton, Jana Parker, Jamie Parker,
Scott Keyes. In the relay race the winner was
Gail McDonald's side. Bill Parker's side won
the clothes pin race and Jamie Parker's side
won the clothes and bottle race. Vera Parker
walked the furthest in one minute, Gail
McDonald guessed the right number, Judith
Parker cracked the widest smile, Harold
Parker was the person with the most buttons,
Don Kestle was the man with the baldest
head, and Pat Dalton was the lady with the
longest fingernails.
A peanut scramble was enjoyed by the
young folk. The Reunion will be held the
same place next year.
PEOPLE
Lulu Love of Kincardine visited last week
with Mr. and Mrs. Dick Taylor.
The many friends of Robert McGregor who
recently underwent surgery in Victoria
Hospital, London wish him a speedy
recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. John Campbell, Blyth were
recent visitors with Bertha MacGregor.
Mrs. Laird Mickle had a surprise visit on
Saturday from her daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Collins, Waterloo and
their family Sarah, Jeffrey, Jennifer and
Andrew where they spent the last three
weeks at the lake at Pt. Clarke.
Visitors with Mrs. C. Christie were Lulu
Watson, Seaforth, Mr. and Mrs. Dan O'Neill
and Christie of London.
Charles Mickle, Hamilton, is spending a
few days this week with his mother Mrs.
Laird Mickle, before he leaves next week to
spend three weeks in the Caribbean on the,
island of Nevis.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chaffe and Sally,
Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Corbett were
recent visitors with their mother Hazel
Corbett.
Bertie Finkbeiner, Zurich accompanied by
Mrs. Glen McKnight visited recently with
Nelson McClinchey at 'Brantford.
ADDS TROPHY
Jim Dickins added to his trophy collection
as he rode his Hully Gully Honda to fourth
place in the 80A class at CMA races at Hully
Gully on Sundays The track was in excellent
condition and proved to be the fastest that it
has been this year as near record times were
achieved in most classes. On Saturday,
House League races were held at Hully Gully.

Huron County 4-H held its demonstration
competition recently with eight clubs taking
part. The winner was Huron Poultry Club.
Paul Hoggarth is a member of that dub along
with Rick and Gerald Knight, Murray
Bechtel, Fred Peel, Kenny Bos, David and
Brucefield UCW
to hold bake sale

U.C.W. members are reminded of the bake
sale at Homestead camp, Bayfield on Aug. 3.
Wesley Ham has returned to Huntsville
after spending a week with his mother, Alice
Ham. They visited with Robert Ham in
Kingston for a couple of days.
Vina Berry visited last weekend at the
cottage of her niece Genieve Griffith near
Goderich,
Douglas McBeath, Windsor spent last
weekend with his mother, Pearl McBeath.

PERSONALS
Hank and Yvette Binnendyk and family
hosted an 80th birthday party for Hank's
mother Anne Binnendyk on Sunday, July 28.
Anne's son Bob and family from Mississauga
her daughter Gerda Vennema and family
from Burlington, and many other relatives
and friends were present to wish Anne a
was not able to ride as he was off for the day to
bean usher at his uncle's wedding. However,
he had enough of a point lead to pick up first
place. Jim is off to Owen Sound August 4 and
5 to take a crack at the Canada Champion-
ship.
QUEENSW AY NEWS
Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Peter Snell
led residents in a sing -song. Peter played the
guitar which was enjoyed by all the residents.
The evening was brought to a close with an
impromptu duet of Tome Johnston, who is a
resident playing the violin and Peter on the
guitar.
Bingo was on the agenda Wednesday. We
had a big turnout this week and almost
everyone who played claimed a"prize.
At noon on Thursday, Rest Home residents
attended a Birthday Barbecue. We celebrat-
ed the July birthdays. Before feasting on hot
dogs and hamburgers, the residents enjoyed
entertainment provided by Nelson Howe and
Denise Connelly, Denise, an experienced
highland dancer and a member of the staff at
Queensway, displayed her talent beautifully
with two different pieces. She was accompan-
ied by Nelson Howe on the fiddle. Then to the
delight of many residents Nelson played
several pieces on the bagpipes, For dessert
we were treated to cake which the ladies
baked.
Father Mooney was in on Friday to
minister to the Catholic residents.

the Kippen area until about ten years ago
when she moved to Exeter to retire.
KIPPEN UNITED CHURCH NEW S
Rev. Lorne Keays was inducted as the new
minister of Kippen and Brucefield United
Churches last week. Rev. Stan McDonald of
Hensall was chairman for the evening and
Rev. Jim VanSlyke of Seaforth gave the
sermon. The combined choirs of Kippen and
Brucefield sang "Amazing Grace". Greet-
ings were brought to Rev. and Mrs. Lome
Keays from various church organizations,
and a fellowship hour followed accompanied
by a delicious lunch served by Brucefield
U. C. W . Services at St. Andrew's Kippen will
resume on August 4 at 11 a.m.
In order that the friendly staff at The Huron Expositor
may enjoy the long weekend with family and friends,
