Ohio woman defends title for 5th time
Shirty Lark from Menton, ,Ohio success-
fully defended her title as Seaforth Golf and
Country Club's Ladies Invitation Champion

neither did most of the main contenders,
except Marg Knowlton from Kincardine who
forced a playoff with Mrs, Lark for the title.
A par on the first extra hole gave the 9
handicapper from Ohio the victory. Both
ladies shot 87 over the par 72 course,
It was the largest field ever for the ,

Museum (Continued from page A3)
curator Ray Scntchmer will step down as
department head. Instead of reporting to
county council monthly, he will report to Mr.
Breede. The project director will in turn
report to the museum committee and county
council.
"My job is to look after the collection.
That's what I'd like to do and where my heart
is," said Mr. Scotchmer.
Mr. Breede was involved in the museum
feasibility study carried out by the county Iasi
year. He is familiar with the project as he
helped make the recommendations of the
study, one of which was to renovate.
Tender (Continued from page Al I
The resolution came about further to a
report by Councillor Hazel Hildebrand at
the June meeting of council. when it was
informed that prior to becoming eligible for
community improvement grants, a munici-
pality was required to have a Community
Improvement Policy Section in their Official
Plan.
ORDER BULBS
Town Council has adopted a recommen-
dation from its Finance and General
Government Committee to order 100 tulip
bulbs from the Seaforth Branch 156 Royal
Canadian Legion. Those bulbs will in turn
be donated to the Seaforth Horticultural
Society.
The Legion is offering the tulip bulbs
for $25.84 per 100 in celebration of .the
Legion's 60th anniversary and the close and
continuing associations of veterans with the
people of Holland.
IUGHTCENOTAPH
Town Council has approved a request
from the Seaforth Branch 156 Royal
Canadian Legion for permission to install a
spotlight at the Cenotaph at Victoria Park.
There have been a number of instances of
vandalism at the park and members of the
Legion feel additional lighting at the park
could cut down on the vandalism. The police
have also been asked to patrol the area more
frequently.
CIRCUS DAY
August 4 has been proclaimed Circus Day
in Seaforth.
Mayor Alf Ross made the proclamation at
a recent meeting of council at the request of
the Seaforth-Norway Hockey Exchange
Committee who are sponsoring the one -day
circus. Funds raised from the event will be
used to help finance a trip to Norway for
bantam age hockey players and a reciprocal
trip by Norway.
