Thomsons hold 46th reunion in Goderich

Blanche Chapman, London and Mr. and
Mrs. Les Adams, Exeter were dinner guests
with their sister Hazel Corbett on Saturday
evening.
Ruby Bell spent several days last week with
her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Ron Mason at their cottage in Port Albert.

Mrs. Shirray attended The Bayfield
Ladies' Dessert Fashion Show and Craft Sale
on Thursday afternoon with her cousin Mrs.
L Makins.
Residents are happy to have Dot Munroe
home from Seafoith Community Hospital.
Joe and Edna McLellan had their daughter
and son-in-law Lois and Clarence Ducharme
of Kitchener to visit with them recently. Mr.
and Mrs. Glen McKnight had their grand-
daughter Mary Gravett of Hanover visit them
on Friday.
Hensall's two motocrossers did well on the
weekend both at Hully Gully Houseleague
and CMA races in Acton on Sunday. John
Kochan came in first in the 80B class at the
Houseleague Class and Jim Dickins won the
80A Class.
In Acton the competition was tough. They
weren't fortunate enough to bring home a
trophy, finishing eleventh in a field of 25.
John rode two very strong races in the 80B
lass.
• Jim was the top -finishing Honda in the
tough and demanding 80A class, dominated
by Kawasakies. For his efforts aboard his
Hully Gully Honda he brought heme the
fourth place trophy.
Both boys will ride at the doubleheader
next Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28 at
their home track.
They will also compete at the Schoolboy
Canadian Championship in Durham August 4
and 5,.
Mrand Mrs. Walter Knowles spent the
weekend in Toronto.

The 46th Thomson Reunion was held
Sunday at St. Christopher Beach, Goderich
with around 70 in attendance. Joyce Foster
presided over the business and secretary -
treasurer Dorothy Cornish read the minutes
from last year. The officers for next year will
be President Mary Thomson; Vice -President
Bill Thomson; Secretary -Treasurer Dorothy
Cornish; Sports Committee Judy Knetchel
and Gail Schneider; Lunch Committee Bill
and Dorothy Chase.
Bruce and John Thomson, sports commit-
tee took charge of the events. Wheel barrow
race winners were Ron and Beatrice Fleming ;
most points guessed: Elaine Schneider;
water in a balloon: Brad Chase and Susan
Fenner. Youngest person attending was
Crystal Thomson. Oldest person.: Dick
Cornish; coming greatest distance David and
Hazel Moyer, Parry Sound.
A candy throw was held for the children,
and a draw for the door prize, a 46th Reunion
-silver spoon, was won by Mabel Stanlake,
Exeter. • .
The Reunion will be held at the same place
next year, third Sunday in July.
The newlyweds were introduced by Bill
Chase - Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Thomson and Mr.
and Mrs. John Thomson. There will also be
two weddings in the near future - Mary
Thomson and Bill Chase.

Alex and Evelyn McBeath,'and Hazel and
Bob Gemmell have returned from a three-
week vacation in Europe and London,
England: During their trip they also visited
France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and
Holland.
Florence Cooper is now home from
hospital.
Paul Hoggarth took part in a Reach For the
Top team on Monday July 15. Paul's team,
"The Huron County Poultry Club" won its
competition for Huron South and got the
opportunity to compete with the winners of
North Huron. This final match took place on
Tuesday Juul23.

Annie Reid has been spending a couple of
weeks at the home of the Talbots in Bayfield,
her daughter Margaret having undergone
surgery.
ACCEPTS POSITION
Vicki Schroeder, Zurich has accepted a
position with the Hensall Medical Centre and
oomillenced her duties there.
Karen Hoffman led the ministry of music at
the United Church on Sunday morning with a
beautiful solo. Belva Fuss was organist and
Wayne Corbett and Jeff Corbett were the
ushers.
The floweis at the front of the church were
placed in honor of the marriage of Janet Bjerg
and Don Beaver. The congregation. were
reminded of the Annual Hensel' Cemetery
Memorial Service to be held next Sunday,
July 28 at 3:00 p.m.
Rev, and Mrs. Bernard Clarkson of
Stoughton, Saskatchewan spent the past
week with Rev. McDonald at the Manse.
A number of people from this area
attended the Sesquicentennial Celebration
and Church Service this past weekend for
Goderich Township held at Holmesville.
