TWIN CITIES — Seaforth PUC Manager Tom Phillips and Mayor
Alf Ross hang a sign sent to Seaforth by Ron` Dunbar of West
Branch, Michigan. It advertises the fact Seaforth is the sister city of
the Michigan town. The two towns visit each other on alternating
years and next weekend will mark Seaforth's reciprocation of the
West Branch visit here last year. (Frank Phillips photo)
Legion to consider paving its parking lot
The Legion Executive meeting was held
Thursday evening with our President Jack
Muir presiding. Very few were absent. After
a meeting with the buying committee of the
Ladies Auxiliary it was voted to have Box
Furniture install a blue carpet around the top
border of the wall replacing the blue paper
that has been on for several years now. A
donation, to the Scouts was also approved.
The paving of the parking lot was also
discussed and a decision made to ask (avis
Construction for an estimate for the work to
be done, when East William Street is
completed.
On Friday night, which turned out dry and
warm, about 20 lawn bowlers turned out to

bowl. Two eight end games were played and
those who played for the first time were quite
enthusiastic about the game. The barbecue
held later was also quite a success and will be
repeated again in the near future. I think Jack
will still have lawn bowling on future Friday
evenings, weather permitting.
Legion Decoration day was held the last
Sunday in June. Having a previous commit-

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE"
ment, I was not able to attend this year. If
anyone knows of any graves that were missed
please get in touch with Gordon Beutten-
miller, so we can have the name and
description of the grave on our list.
W e were sorry to hear of the death of
Comrade Gordon Hildebrand last week.
Gordon has been a life long resident of
Seaforth anda long-time member of the
Canadian Legion. To his wife and friends we
offer our sympathies in their loss.
They shall not grow old as we that are left
grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the
years condemn. At the going down of the sun
and in the morning we will remember them.
Gordon Scott, P. R O.
