OBITUARIES
GORDON JOHN HILDEBRAND
Gordon John Hildebrand of George St. N.,
Seaforth, died July Bat Seaforth Community
Hospital. He was 71. •
A former member of Seaforth Branch 156
of the Royal Canadian Legion, Mr. Hilde-
brand is survived by his wife Verna (Layton),
his sisters Mrs, Roy (Irene) Snider, Mrs, Del
(Stella) Knightly, Mrs. Carl (Mabel)
Schwartz; and brothers Orval, Glen and Cam
of Kitchggner and Albert of Seaforth. He is
altIrsmAtived by brothers-in-law Ed, Glen
and Keith, all of Clinton.'
The funeral was at the Beattie Funeral
Home, Clinton, with interment at Baird's
Cemetery in Stanley Township.
JE..N Nina LEE RILEY
Jennifer Lee Riley, infant daughter of
Tracey Turner and Robert Riley of Huron
Park, died Monday July 8, 1985 in Goderich
Township.
In addition to her parents she is Survived by
grandmother, Jean Turner of Exeter and
grandparents Elaine and Bill Riley of Huron
Park. Also surviving is great-grandmother,
Greta Lavender, of Exeter.
The funeral service was held at Trivitt
Memorial Anglican Church in Exeter. Rev,
James Sutton officiated. Interment was in
Exeter. Cemetery.

RALPH (COONEY) W EILAND
Boston A, T. legendary hockey coach Ralph
(Cooney) Weiland, 80, died Wednesday July
3, 1985.
A member of the hall of fain and a player
on the first Boston Bruins team to win a
Stanley Cup in. 1929. Mr. Weiland was
elected to the hall of fame in 1971 the year he
retired at Harvard after his team won the
R.C.A. C. Championship.
He was still a Bruin when Boston won its
second Stanley Cup in 1939, and coached the
team to its third victory in 1941. In 21 years at
Harvard Mr. Weiland guided his teams to a
record of 315-174-7. '
He was born in Egmondville in 1904 son of
the late Henry and Sarah Weiland and is
survived by his wife Gertrude of Wayland,
Mass.
TRUDYRAEDTS
Trudy Raedts, 69, of Queensway Nursing
Home, 'Hensall, died at the Clinton Public
, Hospital on Thursday, July 4, 1985.
• She was predeceased by two husbands,
John Raedts in 1984 and•Sake Christiaans in
1966.
Sheis survived by children Hilda Van Soest
and Herman Christiaans, both of Holland,
Chris and Mary Christiaans, of Barrie, Jack
' and Julianne Christiaans, of Landon and
Anita and Alex Kiss, of Clinton.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held in Barrie with
interment in Union. Cemetery, Barrie.
MURRAY: Danny and Sharon are happy to
announce the birth of their third son Shane
Francis, born July 3, 1985, weighing.7 lbs. 4
oz. A little brother for Jared and Kyle, A new
grandson for John and Marg Shea and Frank
and Marion Murray.
ELUOTT: Dianne and Brian Elliott are happy
to announce the birth of their daughter
Brianne Jeannine born July 14, 1985. A sister
for Tyler. Grandparents are Frank and
Claudette Elliott of Staffa and Charles and
Carol Thurlow of British Columbia.

to announce the arrival of their? lb. 1 oz. baby
girl, Krysta Renee on July 3 at Stratford
General Hospital. Proud grandparents are

announce the arrival of Lee's baby sister,
Rae -Lynn on July 2, 1985 at Victoria Hospital,
London. Proud grandparents are George and
Florence Nesbitt of Clinton and Bob and
Isabelle Bremner of Ethel. Proud great-
grandparents are Andrew Bremner of Ethel
and Della McMichael of Wroxeter.

Greidanus were married at Clinton Christian
Reformed Church Saturday July 12, 1985 by
Rev Jacob Kuntz. The bride is the daughter
of John and Grace Greidanus of Holmesville
and the groom is the son of Gerrit and Patricia
r..sink of Forest, Ontario. Maid of honor
was Margaret Kastelien of Surrey, British
Columbia and bridesmaids were Gertie
Greidanus of Brucefield and Karen Greidan-
us of Clinton. Best man was Fred Wassink of
Iondon and ushers were John Vanrooyen of
W indsor and Bernie Westervelt of Kitchener,
Following a reception held in Holmesville the
couple took an adventure trip up the Alaska
coast They now reside at River Road East in

Douglas Stuart Cloakey and Joan Christine
\l cArter were married at Brussels United
Church on Saturday June 8, 1985 by Rev.
Charles Carpentier. The bride is the daughter
of Dorothea McArter of Brussels and the
groom is the son of Ivy Cloakey of RR 4
Brussels. Maid of honor was Gloria White of
Brussels. friend of the bride. Bridesmaids
were Joyce Dow of Staffa, friend of the bride,
Susan Meyers of Mitchell, friend of the bride
and Becky McArter of Brussels, niece of the
bride. Flowergirl was Sarah McArter of
Brussels, niece of the bride, Best man was
Bert Sanders of RR 4 Brussels, friend of the
groom, and guests were ushered by Paul
McArter of Brussels, brother of the bride,
Murray McArter of Brussels, brother of the
bride, and Paul Cloakey of Kincardine,
brother of the groom. Ringbearer was
Matthew Snyder of Milton, nephew of the
bride. Following a reception at the Brussels,
Morris and Grey Community Center the
couple took a wedding trip to Toronto and
Northern Ontario.' They now reside at RR 4

FAMILY
ALBERT HORNER
Seaforth resident Albert Homer died at
Freeport Hospital in Kitchener on July 6. He
was 94.
He was predeceased by his wife, Violet
Rathwell, and two sisters, Mrs. Alf (Laura)
Ings and Mrs. Elmer (Myrtle) Krueger.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Frank
(Marion) Ruston of Stratford and son Gordon
of Waterloo. He is also survived by five
grandchildren and seven great-grandchil-
dren.
Friends were received at the Ball and
Falconer "Box Funeral Chapel", Seaforth,
where a funeral service was ,held July 8.,
Interment was at Baird's Cemetery, Stanley
Township.

MARIAN KNOW LES
Marian I. (Slater) Knowles, 62, of Exeter,
died at her residence Sunday, July 14, 1985,
She is survived by her husband Douglas O.
Knowles and daughters Mrs. Ken (Sandra)
Bergmann of Exeter, and Mrs. Terry (Cathy)
Eby of Pickering.
Also surviving are.grandchildren Jess and
Catherine Bergmann and Ryan Eby.
Mrs. Knowles rested at the R.C. Dinney
Funeral Home in Exeter. A funeral service
was held July 16 with Rev. Richard Hawley
officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery. In
Memoriam donations can bemade to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation or South Huron
Hospital.
• MARY McCARTHY
Mary (Hart) McCarthy, 70, of Dublin, died
Saturday July 6, 1985 at the Seaforth
Community Hospital. '
Predeceased by her husband Lloyd Mc-
Carthy she is survived by one son, Keith
McCarthy of Dublin.
Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph of
Dublin and Frank of Stratford and four
grandchildren.
Mass of the Christian Burial was held at St.
Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Dublin
with Father Carrigan officiating. Interment
was at St. Patrick's Cemetery. Funeral
arrangements were made by Whitney-Ribey
Funeral Home in Seaforth.
Pallbearers were Joe Krauskopf, Harold
Meagher, Jim Delaney, Joe Delaney, Ed-
ward Rowland and Martin Van Bake!. Flower
bearers were Mrs. McCarthy's four grand-
children.
THOMAS RICHARD SHARP
Thomas Richard (Rick) Sharp,.24, of RR 1
Clinton, died at Clinton Public Hospital on
Saturday, July 6, 1985.
He is survived by his parents Ellen and
Robert Govenlock; sisters Joanne Sharp of
London and Susan and Michelle Govenlock of
BR 1 Clinton; and a.brother Michael Sharp,
also of RR 1 Clinton.
Also surviving are his grandparents Elmer
and Phyllis Lee and Mary Sharp, all of
Clinton, and Mae Govenlock, of RR 5
Seaforth; several aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his father Thomas
Sharp in 1965 and by his grandfathers Alvin
Sharp in 1984 and Thomas Govenlock in 1970.
Friends were received at the Ball and
Falconer Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral
Mass was held at, St. Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church in Clinton. Cremation with
interment of ashes Clinton Cemetery.
Prayers were held at the funeral home on July
7.
JAMES C. MCINTOSH' •
James Cameron. McIntosh of Tuckersmith
Township died at the Stratford General
Hospital on July 13. He was 79.
The son of the late James McIntosh and the
former Mary McCloy, Mr. McIntosh had
been active in earlier years in both school
boards (at the elementary and secondary
levels) and in farm organizations such as the
Junior Farmers and the Ontario Federation of
Agriculture.
He is survived by wife, the former Vera
Crozier, their son Jim and his wife Brenda,
and daughter Mary and her husband.
Lawrence Biitt of Tuckersmith Township. He
is also survived by his grandchildren Carol,
Ross, Michelle, Amanda and Ian.
He was predeceased by two brothers,
David and John.
Funeral services were held at the Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home on July 15. Interment
was at the Egmondville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ken Carnochan, Emmer-
son Coleman, John Duddy, Jack MacLean, •
Frank Sills and George Townsend. Flower
bearers were Carol McIntosh, Ross McIntosh
Michelle Butt and Amanda Butt.
