The first meeting of the Lucknow

on Tuesday, May 22 at 7 p.m. at 30
Maitland Street, west of Wingham.
The meeting was opened with the
4-H pledge and the leaders, Rebeca
Miller, Brendan Zettler and Shannon
Bieman were introduced. Members
played people Bingo and tried to get
their card full of signatures.
Elections were then held. Emma

rotate.
Members learned about certified
seed and certified tags. Each group
made sample certified tags. Next,
members learned about the project
for this year. Members will be
required to submit a sample of corn,
wheat, soybeans or hay to the
Lucknow Fall Fair.
Members will also be required to
work in groups and plant soybeans
in a paint tray. They will take care of
the soybeans throughout the club
and "sell" soybeans at the final
meeting.
After, members split into groups
and planted their soybeans. They
needed to pay attention to the depth
and seed spacing in order to have
successful beans.
The meeting was closed with the
4-H motto and snacks were enjoyed
by the members and leaders.
