Raceway relaunches, focuses on local connections
saying that, with recent
environmentally -friendly ventures at
the site, he was becoming more
aware of what Huron has to offer.
Lee noted that 3,000 to 4,000
people camp during the TransCan
every year and tens of thousands of
"visitor days" are accumulated.
He said tapping into that
audience would be a great way
for other Huron County businesses
and groups to uniquely benefit.
Accessibility was also a key point
in Lee's presentation, saying that,
aside from endeavouring to have a
fully -accessible fleet of maintenance
vehicles for the grounds, parts of the
challenge course are also being
reworked with accessibility in mind.

New look, new vision
With Brett Lee, right, at the helm of Walton Raceway, he hopes to broadcast what the site is
capable of, saying it's more than the annual TransCan. Lee invited media and local community
leaders to tour the site, participate in activities and encouraged them to go out and tell the
story of the Raceway and how it can connect to other businesses. (Denny Scott photo)

The theme of last week's
rebranding of the Walton Raceway
was local synergy, owner Brett Lee
explained at the special re -launch
event held on May 15.
Lee, who previously had run the
raceway with a partner, relaunched
the raceway on May 15, saying he
wants to reintroduce the raceway to
the community.
He said that part of the initiative
was to have the raceway known for
more than the Walton TransCan,
admittedly one of the biggest events
at the site.
"We are a lot more than the
TransCan," Lee said. "Motocross is
only 20 per cent of what we do."
Lee said he wanted the group of
community leaders and media at the
announcement to understand what
the raceway offered, with additions
like the Walton Challenge Course
and events outside of the TransCan.
He hoped that those present took that
message, as well as one of

Libro Celebrates the Community!
Libro Credit Union Clinton branch had a furry visitor recently from
Giddy Up N' Go Ponies. Candy Cane, a Barbados blackbelly sheep
turned heads as she trotted through the lobby to attend an
appointment with branch manager Sandy Dearling to discuss
preparations for Libro's upcoming Cele-preciation.
What IS a Cele-preciation you ask? It is a celebration of our
community and appreciation of all who work, live and play in it!
Clinton Community Credit Union was established in 1952 and is
one of many roots, which has a shared commitment to helping
families, farms, and enterprises in southwestern Ontario.
While Clinton branch has been known as Libro Credit Union for
the last four years now, the company itself has a complex history,
the result of forty-three Credit Unions that have come together over
time to form the organization we know today. Libro just recently
reached their 75th year in business on May 13 2018 and what better
way is there to celebrate such a milestone, than to have a party!
On Wednesday May 30th, Libro Clinton Branch will be hosting
activities in their parking lot from 11:30 a.m. — 7:00 p.m. for all ages,
from the young to young at heart.
Grab a BBQ hotdog, and visit with Candy Cane and her furry
friends from Giddy Up N' Go Ponies. The outdoor petting farm event
will feature Kooska the llama, Ruben the miniature zebu cow, Rita
the miniature Mediterranean donkey, Jazz the Shetland miniature
pony and much more!
Enjoy live music in the afternoon by Jazz Cubed from St. Anne's
Catholic Secondary School, and cool instrumental guitar selections
by Libro's own Braden Perrett and Guests in the evening.
Try your hand at some games and activities and visit with Libro's
mascot Bill the Duck when he drops in for the festivities. And, be
sure to enter the free draw for a basket of products all from local
businesses!
Stop in to say hello, and to celebrate and appreciate our
community with Libro. Everyone is welcome!
