ani nconveni nt sequel
TRUTH TO POWER
The powerful new movie 'Truth to Power" by Al Gore is coming to the Bayfield Town Hall on
Thursday, Aug. 9. starting at 7:30.
Ten years after the" Inconvenient Truth" movie brought climate change into the forefront of
mainstream culture, Nobel Prize winner Al Gore has created a sequel, 'Truth to Power", in
which he continues the tireless fight to educate the next generation of climate champions. Eye-
opening and alarming, this movie shows that while the stakes have never been higher, the
solutions to the climate crisis are still within our reach.
Introducing the movie and facilitating the discussion afterwards will be Professor Tom Davis, of
Fanshawe College. Davis was one of the keynote presenters last year in the successful Blue
Bayfield Summit environmental conference. He has over 35 years of consulting, developing,
project management and teaching experience in the environmental arena and is a LEED
accredited professional with the Canadian Green Building Council. He was also personally
trained by Al Gore and therefore is part of the Climate Reality Program Leadership Corps. This
makes him the ideal person to help us understand the importance of the statements this movie
makes about the looming climate crisis.
Be sure to mark your calendar and come to the once -only screening of this important movie.
The film will commence at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. However, your donations at the door
will help the co-sponsors, Blue Bayfield and Bayfield River Valley Trail Association, offset the
costs of the event. Surplus funds will be used to further the objectives of Blue Bayfield, BRVTA
and other local organizations supporting environmental initiatives.

and additional loops recently created. There were
36 hikers present to enjoy the 7 KM hike.
Members from the London group have either
hiked one or more of the routes on the Camino de
Santiago or have future plans to do so. This
pilgrimage can be very powerful for those who
chose to take the plunge and challenge
themselves both physically and spiritually.
Following the morning hike, everyone was invited
to John and Ana Thompson's house to enjoy a
bowl of Spanish soup and bread. After filling up
with soup it was time for another walk, since that
is what pilgrims love to do. This was a slightly
shorter walk, a yellow arrow walk, through town
with a stop at Trinity Anglican Church for well
wishes to past and future pilgrims. Everyone
enjoyed the much-needed lemonade and water at
the home of Pat McDougall and Sheila Sully. The
walk ended again at the Thompson's home where
the number in attendance climbed to 65!
Hikers were treated to an amazing potluck feast
featuring many traditional Spanish and
Portuguese dishes. Pilgrims seem to know how to
both cook and eat food! Many stories and
inspirational words were shared during the meal.
Organizers would like to pass on many thanks to
all who contributed.
Following the morning hike, everyone was invited to John
and Ana Thompson's house to enjoy a bowl of Spanish
soup and bread as tradition dictates.

PIXILATED - IMAGE OF THE WEEK
In the afternoon hikers enjoyed a slightly shorter walk, a
yellow arrow walk, through town with a stop at Trinity
Anglican Church for well wishes to past and future
pilgrims.
The trail took hikers along ravines, old pastures and
glacial hills as they walked along old gravel quarry roads,
lumber paths and deer trails.

On July 18, Issue 471, 1 shared the story of the four cats at The Turner Gallery in Bayfield who were looking for their "furever"
families. I am pleased to share that one of these painted felines was "adopted" on July 27. Did I forget to mention these cats
are not the sit in your lap kind but rather works of art that hang on your wall? Probably an important point to make especially for
those who may be allergic.
These zany cats are the creations of Artist Andrew Lewis who is the featured artist at The Turner Gallery this summer. The
whimsically delightful Zoe is the first cat to find a home and as a result a donation to the Bayfield Forgotten Felines TNR

program will be given.
That leaves three little kittens (well, not so little actually, the paintings are 36"X36") looking for a home. But if you'd like to help
out the Main Street feral cat colony and enjoy some art on a smaller scale there are smaller 12" x 12" prints of the paintings
available too. These smaller images are sold individually or in a set and a percentage of those sales will also go to the
Forgotten Felines. The gallery is open Thursday to Sunday until Sept. 1.
Bayfield's Forgotten Felines — forgotten no more — thanks to folks like artist Andrew Lewis and the owners of The Turner
Gallery: Brad Turner and Jessica Petelle! — Melody
Ideas and contributions to the Bayfield Breeze are always welcome.
Deadlines for submissions are Sundays at 4 p.m.
