JULY 15 -- ISSUE 2 - PIONEER PARK RUMMAGE SALE: Seven-year-old Matthew McLellan of Toronto proved that
you can still have some fun when volunteering. He was kept busy inspecting all of the toys that came in for the
sale.
JULY 22 - ISSUE 3 - The features that appear on the pages of the Bayfield Breeze are often greatly enhanced by
contributed images. This one taken by Carolyn Scotchmer, complimented a story on her travels in Egypt and
Jordan. She snapped it along the Nile at Aswan.

Just 26 short weeks ago, the first issue of the
Bayfield Breeze was launched on the World Wide
Web.
The committee and I were excited about this new
direction in community news and we were
determined to provide Bayfield with its own
voice. As the first key strokes were formatted
we could not have envisioned how well our online
news source would be received both locally and
abroad. The positive comments and story
suggestions have both encouraged us and driven
us to put our best efforts forward each week
and we continue to welcome them hopefully for
many, many issues to come.
We, Canadians, are a humble lot and we tend to
brush off compliments, but as this is the start of a
brand New Year perhaps our subscribers will
indulge us in a look back at the last seven
months.
This week Part One: July 9 to Sept. 23; sprinkled
throughout are some of the lovely comments sent
in by our subscribers. Thanks to all those people
who have taken the time to share their thoughts,
they are greatly appreciated.
Wow! How exciting.... thank
you so much for including me
in on your email list. I have
forwarded this onto many of
my contacts and look
forward to each issue.
What an incredible first
issue. Ilove how the
committee has developed a
paperless, environmentally
friendly new way of
communicating our terrific
Village news.
Congratulations to everyone
who is involved; you have
truly succeeded in your
accomplishments... very
professional... top notch just
as I would have expected
from my dear friend Melody.

Hi Dennis, Just wanted to extend my compliments on
this initiative. I look forward to receiving this update
each week. It's easily accessible and is well written and
laid out for easy reading. The ads also look sharp and
makes the website more relevant yet in promoting local
businesses. Congrats again on this venture.

If my "Submissions" notes were to have a theme, I would title this one, "The Gratitude Edition", for in my review of 2009 1 realize I have much to be
thankful for.
In my personal life, it has been a year to celebrate both happy and sad occasions. In our family, we have marked a milestone birthday, welcomed a new
daughter-in-law and said goodbye to a cherished uncle.

Bayfield Breeze - Week 1 Issue 26
In my volunteer life, my sisters in Guiding, and I, achieved a goal in recognizing our organization's 100th with the creation of a
calendar we are all very proud of.
And in my professional life, the Bayfield Breeze has not only opened doors on opportunity; it has kindled my love for community
news. It is a tremendous privilege to be welcomed into our subscribers' homes each week and an honor to share the stories of
the people who make our community a wonderful place to live. I am also very grateful to the Bayfield and Area Chamber of
Commerce and the local advertisers who have shared our vision for this online news source.
On behalf, of the Bayfield Breeze Committee — Dennis, Mike, Roger, Ian and John, I would like to take this opportunity to wish
each and every subscriber a New Year filled with gratitude, happiness and good fortune.
Ideas and contributions to the Bayfield Breeze are always welcome. Deadlines for submissions are Sundays at 4 p.m. Please email me at bayfield.breeze@villageofbayfield.com or call
519-565-2443. Hope to see you online soon at www.villageofbayfield.com - Melody
