The comet now visible in the north- western sky is likely to become the brightest of recent years. It is uow seventeen times as brilliant as when it was first discovered at Marseilles a few. weeks ago, and it will increase in brightness until it comes within the in- fluence of the strong light of the sun, when for a time it will seem to be dim med.
