Ottawa, July 10.—Ono of the glass squares which form the ceiling of the Commons chamber came crashing down while the House was in Ses- sion yesterday afternoon, and :lir. John McGowan of Centre Welling- ton, who sat immediately beneath, had a narrow escape from death. An employe carrying a pail of ice to place in a ventilating pipe was the cause of the accident.
