nignt. Some 150 invitations were sent
out.
We got our first snow on Tuesday
night.
Some farmers have finished harvesting
their root crop, and others have not yet
started. The snow on Tuesday night
should be a \Yarning to the latter.
?hiss Mary Hazlewood left last Friday
for Colorado, on the mountains, which
is about 8,000 feet above the lede] of the
sea. She went by way of Toronto and
when last heard from was much im-
proved iu health. We hope the change
of climate will restore Miss IIaziewocd
to good health. She was in Manitoba
for a short time but the climate diti not
agree with her.
Rev. Mr. Mahood is the guest of his
brother-in-law, Mr. T. A. Gibson.
who bas been nil in Philadelphia with
typhoid fever is now in a fair way for
recovery. Miss Agnew's many friends
here will be pleased to learn that she is
getting better.

Park, Loudon, Eng., is at present in
Wiunipeg, oouferriug with Commission-
er Smith in regard to the procuring of a
settlement for the 21000 British settlers
leaving from Liverpool early next March
for the North-West.
