- A car load of stove coal pnssecl
through Winghant on Tuesday bound
for Kincardine. This is the first car
load of coal we have seen since the early
days of the strike. Wiugham dealer,
expect a supply of coal in a couple of
weeks.
- The price of the deity papers pub-
lished in Guelph, Stratford, St. Thomas
and other smaller cities has been raised
from $3.00 to $4 00 per year. Tho in-
creased price of p per and other print-
ing material id tad cause of the advance
in price.
Brussels people are considering the
advisability of granting Lockridge
Bros. of the woolen mills in that place,
a loan of $5,000, to be paid back in an-
nual instalments of $500 for ten years.
Messrs Lockridge are former Wing-
hamites.
-November 9 is the Ring's birthday,
but in veiw of its proximity to Thanks•
giving Day and the fact that it comes
at an unfavorably season of the year a
proclamation will be issued for the
observation of the Sovereign's birthday
on May 24th.
-Mr. Stewart Hood. a former mem-
ber of the Tines staff, is now part own-
er of the Opinion, a weekly paper pub-
lished at Crary, North Dakota. The
TIMES is pleased to hear of Stewart's
success, and we wish hire prosperity in
his new undertaking.
-Work on the now granolithic walks
is being pushed along rapidly. The
walkes on Edward, Maple and Stutter
streets are now completed. If the
weather remains favorable the walk
of Victoria street, from Leopold street
to the Lower Wingham bridge will be
laid this fall.
-Farmers in Rochester and Maidstone
townships, Essex County, Were inveigled
into giving their notes for $58 each for a
milk can of a new style with a lining
guaranteed to Prevent the contents being
affected by changes of temperature, but
which turned out worthless. They
roust, however, pay the notes.

A Toronto "Star" reporter investigat-
ed the case of Mr. Geo. Warner, and
found that after thirteen years of al-
most total deafness, he had been cored
by inhaling Catarrhozone.
