A., has resum- ed his duties as teacher in the Yank - leek Hill high school. Mrs. Jerome and Mr. Herbert Jerome joined Dr. Jerome here last week and they have their household furniture placed in their new home on Ring street. Mrs. E. J. Service and Miss Rosa Rnetz, of Remus, Michigan, and Mrs A. L. Hawk and Master LeRoy Hawk, of Barrytou, Michigan, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Emigh for a few days last week. Miss Mabel McElroy, youngest daugh- ter of Mrs. Wm. McElroy, of Blyth,was married in Chicago ou Monday after- noon, Sept. 1st, to a young gentleman of that city. The deceased had been at her son's place on the adjoining farm, and was returning home. She:was observed by some one at home to be unable to walk and .a buggy was quickly despatch- ed for her, but she died immediately attar reaching honie, Heart trouble was the cause of death. Mr. and Mrs. Williams and daughter Edna, of Mitchel, visited at Mr.Jordan's, fifth line. Elijah Pease's threshing engine was damaged ,to a considerable extent one evening last week, near Sunshine. The horses drawing it backed clown over a hill and the engine went over the bauk. The fly wheel was smashed. The sad intelligence has been received here of the death,on Aug. 29th,of the 18 - year -old son of Mr. Alex. Yuill, of Harrietsville. Mich. Lightning struck the chimney of Mr. Yuill's residence, splittiug it from top to bottom, and also killing his son Mr. Yuill is a brother of Mr. Robert Yarn and Mrs. McMurray of this township. CULROSS. Culross, on Wednesday evening Sept. 3, when his eldest daughter, Euphemia, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Mr. Jas. Wilson,also of Culross. Promptly at 6 o'clock, to the strains of Mendelsohn's wedding march, played by Miss Lizzie Wilson, the bridal party entered the room where the ceremony was performed by Rev. G. M. Dunn, of Whitechurch. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a dress of white organdie, trimmed with lace, and carrying a shower baguet of white flowers. The bridesmaid, Miss Jean Ferguson, was attired in a dress of white organdie over blue, and carried a bouquet of mauvo and white flowers.ers. The groom was supported by Mr. Jas. Leaver Wawattosh. After the ceremony 1the the assembled guests, to number of about ono hundred, repaired to the din- ing room whore a sumptuous repast was, served in the very best style. The huge number of beautiful and costly presents testify to the esteem in which the young people are held by a largo circle of friends. The happy pair left on Thurs- day morning for a trip to Toronto and Niagara Falls and after their return will take up housekeeping at Balsam Grove Farm on the 2nd eon. It is said that Mrs. Playford got judg- ment against one Ward at Harriston for letting her trunk fall in the water while taking it to the station. Last week nu electric storm .visited this section. Peter McTavish, who has been very low for some time, is a little brighter this week and may yet pull through. He took a little nourishment Monday. Rev.
