Ou Friday, August. 1st there passed
peacefully away to his long lion a much
respected member of our community in
the person of Mr. J. B. Weatberhead.
Mr. Weathorhea4 was a teacher by
profession, having taught in St. Helens
public school for a period of about ten
years, till, having caught a severe cold
about six years ago,' he gave up the work
hoping to take it up again with the re•
turn of health. This cold developed
into lung affection, aucl Mr. W eathehead
in the hope of recuperating his health by
a change of climate went to Sauta Fe,
New Mexico. The climate seemed to be
having the desired effect, till, two years
ago last spring, he had occasion to Donne
home again: The change of climate
seemed -to aggravate his trouble almost
immediately and ho went back to New
Mexico. After this the disease gradually
took a stronger hold on his system. He
came home last winter aucl gradually
sank till. release came in death., Mr.
Weatherhead was a man of sterling
qualities, and by his cheerful disposition
and upright Christian character did
much to mould for good the lives of his
pupils and also the lives of those he came
in contact with day by day. In his sick-
ness he was ever cheerful and patient
practising those Christian graces that
had adorned his life in health.
