Mutch, sr., an old and highly respected resident of this township died on Tuesday night of last week. the funeral took place to the Union Ceme- tery on Friday afternoon. The voters'. lists for East Wawanosh for 1902 have been printed. The total number of voters ou the list is 603. Of this number 403 can vote at both muni- cipal elections and elections to the Iegis- lative assembly; 93 at municipal elec- tions only, and 42 at elections to the legislative assembly only. There are 346 persons on the list qualified to serve as jurors. Dr. John S. Anderson and Dr. D. F. Anderson, of Philadelphia are spending a few holidays with their relatives and friends in the township. Mrs. Edward Haines, of the gravel road is visiting with her brothers; and sisters near Toronto. During the storm on Tuesday the barn belouging to Mr. Henry Wightman, of the 7th concession was struck by lightn- ing and burned to the ground. DE,LULowe • On Friday evening, July 25th, the Presbyterian congregation met at the manse, Belanore, to congratulate Rev, Mr. Stewart on :the completion of twenty-five years of service as pastor of the church. A complimentary address was read and Mr: Stewart was made the recipient of a handsome lounge and easy chair. He replied in feeling terms and said he was surprised to think that a %} arter of a century had rolled by sincb they: first came amongst thein. After the presentation the ladies spread a bounteous repast from the baskets which had been brought. with them and at 10.30 or 11 o'clock the pleasant gath- ering broke up.
