Death to Wild Mustard,
Prof. Doherty, associate profesSor of
biology at Guelph Agricultural College,
is receiving many reports from farmers
of the success of his recipe for destroy-
ing wild mustard by spraying with blue
stone. Tuesday a letter was received
from Mr. D. A:bempsey stating that in
a field on the farm of Andrew Easson,
North Easthope, where the solution was
used, the mustard, which was a heavy
crop, has been entirely killed and the
oats, theugh a little brown for a few days
from the effects of the sprnying, have
completely recovered. The result of
the experiment has been more satisfac-
tory from. the fact that the mustard at
the time of the application was at a little
further advanced stage than is regarded
as the best for effective work. •
