A novelty has been secured in four whippets which will race 100 yards and 120 yards. The whippets will also race against Halbhaus who No Obstruction at the Polls, There seems to be now little doubt that there will be an autumn election, with reciprocity as the issue. The friends of reciprocity have no reason to regret that it will be submitted to the country, for their is little doubt that the Government will be returned by a substantial majority, and recipro- city carried into effect with the full approval of the people, The only cause for regret will be that the West will not obtain the representation' to which it is entitled. The Opposition seems to be in doubt as to its own attitude. Oc- casionally 'tissues messages of defiance declaring that it will not aIIow the measure to pass without an appeal to the country. But when charged with obstruction, it makes indignant denials. The fact of obstruction is quite appar- ent to any impartial observer. But there is no form of obstruction which can prevent the voters from marking their ballots, for reciprocity. -Toronto Star.
