There were more than 11,000,000,000 conversations by ,telephone in the Unit- ed States in 1907, according to estimates in the census bureau's report now being printed. This shows that in the five years from 1002 to 1907 the use of the telephone in the United States more than doubled, to be exact increased 124 per cent, for only 6,000,000,000 coover- sations were reported in 1902.
