Spring Suits, Overcoats,
Trousers, Etc.rmn
Is the theme we bring to your notice at this time. Some wise man
has said—"My son, get wisdom, and with all thy getting, get under-
standing." The wise man to -day says—"Got a New Snit or Over-
coat, and when you are getting, get it made to your order, in your
own town. where you know what you are getting, and that it is
genuine Tailor-made." That would be wisdom; that would be un-
derstanding. Our NEW SPRING GOODS have arrived, and it is
not exaggerating to say that they include the nicest lines we have
had for some time, and at prices corresponding with the qualities
shown. Space will not allow us to go into details, but
WE HAVE THE GOODS
and can make them any style desired. We are dealing in strong
statements, butwilt back them up. We have yet to find the style
of garments we cannot duplicate: Although plain, neat styles are
more in line with strictly high-class tailoring this season, it is for
you to name your style—WE WILL MAKE IT.
OUR FURNISHING DEPARTMENT is filled with the newest
and best for Spring and Summer in all lines.
We have also added a first, class line of Jewelry.

DOCTORS PRESCRIBE IT
A Medicine That Appeals to
Physicians—They Recognize
Its Value --Dr, J. E, Ennis of
Atlanta, iia,, Tells the Truth
About Vinol.
"I want people to know that I be-
lieve the most valuable cod liver oil
preparation, the best body-builder,
health -restorer and strength -creator
known to medicine to -day is Vino',
"I advise Vinol in my practice,
and find it has no equal for healing
coughs, cold, broncial troubles and
sore lungs.
"I have used Vinol in many cases
of indigestion, mal -assimilation, and
for patients who have no appetite,
were anaemic and run down, with
splendid results. I have also found
Vinol to be a boon to the have,
"I believe Vino! to be well worthy
of any honest physician's endorse-
ment."—J. E. Ennis, M. D.
For, old people, delicate children,
weak, run-down persons, after sick-
ness, and for chronic coughs, colds,
bronchitis, and all throat and lung
troubles Vino! is unexcelled. Those
who try Vinol and receive no benefit
may have their money back. J.

Turnips and Potatoes.
During the season just closing,
George J. Thorp, of Guelph, has
shipped .312 cars of turnips and 103
cars of potatoes. That makes about
187,000 bushels of turnips, and nearly
02,000 bushels of potatoes. Most of -
these shipments have been to the
United States market. The potatoes
ranged from 45c. to OOc, per bag.
To Borrow $50,000,000.
Hon. W. S. Fielding will leave for
England as soon as the session is over
for the purpose of floating a Dominion
loan of $50,000,000. The money is
partly to pay off old loans, partly to
provide the ten millions the Govern-
ment is loaning the Grand Trunk
Pacific, and in part for the cost of
meeting the cost of the Government's
section of the Transcontinental.
Head Office, Hamilton.
To -day usually takes care
of itself. It is the uncer-
tain to -morrow 'for which
we- mint make provision
to -day.
IT is impossible to tell what the future has in store for us,
financially. If reverses, sickness, pr unexpected emergency
-arise, . the prudent person will have made provision for such
contingency, by laying aside in the safe custody of a chartered
Savings Bank some regular sum from the weekly earnings.
• This Fund differs from money involved in business, or in-
vested in mortgages or commercial ventures—it is at once avail-
able whenever required. It is an emergency fund, always sub-
ject to your call. It stands separate and distinct from your
business or your investments ; and, representing an accumulation
of small sums, regularly taken from current income., it is hard
ly missed, and rapidly grows into a substantial sum.
THE BANK OF HAMILTON ---by its reputatlofl,e•and
the absence of all unnecessary routine -has gained the confidence
of Savings Bank depositors, and is popular with those desirous
of opening a new account. Every convenience and accommodation
is afforded all who desire to make use of the service it affords,
and an inquiry for the Manager will secure any desired infor.
mation or attention.

called away again within a week.
The Russia sank about 10 Mike off
Detour, at 11 p, re. about 10 days ago,
and the crew took to the boats and
landed safety at Detour about 8 o'clock
the following morning. Mr. Campbell
was the only Goderich man among the
Drew, although the captain, John Mc-
Lean, lived there some years since,
The wreck was caused by the shifting
of the cargo through the storm, the
steamer overturning and sinking,

A business firm in town while mak-
ing up a consignment of butter came
across a package that weighed suspl.
elously heavy for its size, It weighed
nine pounds. But nearly half of it
was made up by a atone in the centre
of the package, The atone cost the
firm about a dollar, which is rather a
high price for stones in this town.
Quite a Town,
Walkerton seems to be a live town,
for there is generally a row on there
about something. Last week the
night-watchman was charged with
having a key to the clock that acted
as a check on his rounds, and now the
town has another outbreak of small-
pox, and the Constable is blamed for
it. Now somebody wants a bonus of
$15,000 to start a factory there.
Why Cough Syrups Fail.

ritated membranes, drop into the
stomach and do Iittle eIse. but harm
digestion, It's different with Catar-
rhozone—you inhale it. Every breath

tissues. Tightness, soreness and in-
flammation are cured by healing pine
essences. The cough goes away.

Waited For Ravens.
E. M. Brock, an aged Zion City man,
lay four days under a tree during the
recent severe storms, waiting for
ravens to feed him. He is slowly re-
covering. He had read about Elijah
by exercising faith being fed bZravens,
and he decided to try it. He had
enough faith to last four days, during
which he prayed incessantly, but the
ravens were not on the job. He final-
ly gave up, and suffered himself to be
carried back to his cabin.
Marriage Certificate Needed.
Mrs. Donald Darroch of St. Thomas,
is one of the -descendants of William
Fortner, who are heirs to a fortune in
Scotland. The descendants in Canada
and United States who number about
50, have made efforts to have the title
to the estate cleared up, but so far
have been unsuccessful. Mrs. Darroch,
whose maiden name •was Fortner, is a
direct descendant of William Fortner
who married Lady Isabel Douglas,
daughter of Lord ShoIto Douglas. If
only a missing marriage certificate
could be found Mrs. Darroch's claim to
a share of the $52,000,000 fortune in-
volved would be substantiated.
Naturally she is anxious to find that
certificate.
Women's Period Of Pain.
Regularity of the system can only
be secured , by maintaining strong
healthy circulation. If feeble, run-
down, nervous, be sure that circula-
tion is poor. The natural result is
congestion that exacts so severe a pen-
alty. Besides 'being a blood former
and nerve tonic, Ferrozone adds ad-
ditional vigor to the heart and ensures
strong blood circulation. This is the
only means of preventing congestions
that cause pain, headache and nerve
weakness. The whimle system is re-
newed and fortified strength,
vigor and endurance. For girls and
women nothing equals Ferrozone, 50c

Mrs. McKee's 12 -year-old son, who,
with his mother, lives at the home of
Mr. Blackstone, on Emma street,
Sarnia, had a very close call for his
life Sunday. He had a rope put
around his neck and fastened to the
back of a chair, when he fell off the
chair and was almost strangled to
death. Dr. Merrison found the lad
apparently dead. Artificial respira-
tion was resorted to and the lad final-
ly restored to consciousness.

Death of W. G. Loscombe.
W. 0. Loscombe, a prominent lawyer
and citizen of Kincardine died last
week after an "illness of five Weeks.
The Review says :—"If any Man in
the legal profession ever earned an;i
enjoyed the reputation of an honest
lawyer it was W. C. Losconibe, X. 0.,
whose death this community deplores
to -day. He was a robust, upright
character whose rugged honesty was
proof against the many temptations
incident to the practice of the legal
profession, He would scorn to take
advantage of circumstances which
might enrich himself at the expense of
others, and at the sacrifice of his
conscientious ideate of duty and honor.
A Large Snake.
Last week,,, while Nelson Yea • of
Goderich township was working in
the field he came across alarge Copper
Snake which •measured six feet in
length and as thick as a man's arm.
Nelson being a little doubtful as to
the nature of the reptile, determined
to face his antagonist and securing a
strong rail struck it on the head, In
an instant it rolled into a coil, then
uncoiled itself again as' if ready for
—battle. Mr. Yeo gave it another blow
Which proved to be fatal, the snake
showing•no more signs alight. Last
fall, Edward Marshall saw a snake
something similar, he says, but dread-
ing the look of the thing; he left it un-
harmed and took a quick step for the
house.

Returned Insurance Money.
An interesting bit of fire insurance.
history has just come to light in the
official records of the Gore District
Company of Galt, Ont. Messrs. A, H.
Lofft & Co., drygoods, St. Mary's, had
aloss by fire for which the adjustors
allowed them $6,250. At their next
stock taking, the firm became con-
vinced they really had not lost more
than $3,750. Having confirmed this
by a `second stock taking, they im-
mediately sent a letter returning to
the fire insurance companies the $2,300
overpaid by them, the share of the
Gore being $230.45,
Which Liniment. Is Best ?
For muscular pains and aches a
thick oily preparation can't penetrate
—that's why Nerviline beats them all
—it sinks right. in. "I wouldn't Iive
without Nerviline in • my house,"
writes T. B. Cottam, of Mastown, N.S.
"If you have rheumatism or soreness
in the muscles or in fact any need of
an honest liniment, Nerviline fills Cele
bill. I can recommend it highly be-
cause I have proved that in one appli-
cation of Poison's Nerviline there is
more virtue than in a whole bottle of
ordinary liniment." Try one of the
large 250 bottles.
