The Dungannon Agricultural So-
ciety held its annual meeting one day
last week. The attendance was only
fail'. The Auditors' report shows 'the
society to be strong financially, each
year adding a little to the surplus.
Tho election of officers resulted in re-
installing the 1907 Board for another

by the Directors.

Public Libraries received the usual
grants.
The Reeve and Councillor Thomp-
son were appointed to meet the Ash-
field Council and the Dungannon Driv-
ing Park Association, re Court room
accommodation.
J. Cameron was appointed caretaker
of hall at $12 per year.
The Lucknow Sentinel was .gran ted
$5 for extra printing.
Cheques were issued to the amount
of about $275, in payment of accounts.

A sad event happened on the 2nd
con., on Saturday, when Mr, Adam
Faust, a respected farmer committed
suicide by dropping himself into a
well. When the body was recovered
life was extinct. He was 08 years of
age.
On Tuesday of last week at high
noon a quiet wedding took place at
the home of Mrs. Alex. Laird, 12th
con., when her daughter( Minerva,
was married' to Mr. John Hamilton,
of Gorrie, Rev. A. W. McTavish per-
forming the ceremony.
Mr, A, Furtney. 2nd con., Howirk,
has purchased a 100 -acre farm, four
miles west of Parkhill and will take
possession about March 1st. He has
also rented a nearby farm of 50 acres.
Mr. Ed, Richard has the farm Mr.
Furtney is leaving rented for a term
of five years.
Judge Doyle presided at a special
court in Gorrie last Tuesday to hear
the appeal suit of Robt. Ferguson
against the ward of engineer Cochlin
on the Ratan drain. Robertson of
Walkerton and Bray of Listowel for
defendants. It took all day examin-
ing witnesses and the Judge reserved
his decision. It will certainly be a
costly affair to some one.
The Township Council met in the
Township Hall here, Monday, and the
following took the oath of office :-
