Brussels.
Robert Thomson has shipped 26,000
pounds of choice dressed Spring chick-
ens this winter from Brussels.
Sabbath, Dec. 22nd, the anniversary
sermons of Brussels Methodist church
will be preached. On the evening of
Christmas Day the anneal tea- meeting
will be held,
Last week the line shaft in the
Anent factory broke the second time
this year and the repairs took about
5 days, the machinery being set in
motion again last Monday.
Thos. Bone and family have taken
up residence in the apartments in the
postoffice block, so that Miss Bessie,
assistant in the postofce, may be
more convenient to the making up of
the early morning mall.
The regular meeting of East Huron
Farmers' Institute will be held in the
Town Hall, Brussels, on Tuesday, Jan-
uary 15th. Outside speakers will be
.1. Oardhouse, Highfield, Ont., and
W. F. Kidd of Simcoe.
After an absence from town for the
past two years at Guelph, John Caber
carne back to Brussels last week and
purchased the carriage business and
shop of Robert Francis, near the Town
Hall, Flora street and is now in pos-
seision.
John Galbraith purchased the livery
business and barn of George Robb and
is now in possession. Mr. Robb had
everything in first-class shape and
this condition of affairs will no doubt
be maintained by his successor, who is
a great horse fancier.
Peter Stewart arrived home from
Langdon, North Dakota, and Battle -
ford, Saskatchewan, whither he had
gone to look after his possessions in
the line of real estate, having 800 acres
at the former and 040 acres near the
latter place. He reports times quiet
in Cavalier Co., Dakota, ana the crops
very light.
Division Court was held Wednesday
afternoon in the Town Hall, Brussels,
before Judge Holt. The cases heard
were as follows :—Stevens vs. Holt—
Action on warranty of a cow sold by
defendant to plaintiff. Verdict for
the defendant with costs. Best vs.
Speiran—Action for darnoges for
breech of contract by defendant.
Verdict for plaintiff with costs.
NINETY DEATHS
Bear Silent Witness to the Ravages
of Kidney Disease.
An alarming fact—hut statistics
show that in post mortem examina-
tions as to death from all cases, that
in over 90 per cent. of such cases
kidney disease is present. This almost
incredible statement is borne out by
years of comparison by most eminent
medical men. A warning to humanity
that the percentage of those not cur-
sed with kidney taint is very small.
South American Kidney Cure relieves
in •six hours—is nature's preventive—
clears the clogged parts—heals and
permanently cures. (3)

—The point where the Walkerton
and Lucknow Railway joins the To-
ronto, Grey and Bruce between Flesh-
erton and Proton is now known as
"Saugeen Junction," and the name
seems quite appropriate. Though the
rails are laid through from the Junc-
tion to a point west of Hutton Hill,
the ballasting is not completed nor is
all the grading entirely finished. A
strenuous effort will be made to strike
Hanover before giving up work for
the season.
Palmerston, Dec. 12,—At one o'clock
to -day while train No. 17 from Brant-
ford was about a mile south of Moore-
field it struck a horse and buggy be-
longing to Jas. Woolner, killing Mr.
Woolner instantly. The horse escap-
ed. Mr. Woolner was thrown about
75 feet up the track and fell in a
ditch. The body was picked up by
the train hands and put in baggage
cars and taken to Moorefield, where it
was identified as that of the above
named gentleman. Deceased was
about 70 years of age.

in Plaster form, will surprise you.
For sore throat, coughs, colds, and
pleurisy alone, it is used by thousands
every day. Invaluable in the home,

MISSIONARY TO LUCKNOW.
Alexander Mackenzie, of the village
of Lucknow died in 1905, leaving the
residue of his estate amounting to
about $3,000 to "The Free Presby-
terian Church in Canada in con-
nection with the Free Presbyterian
Church in Scotland." "What does
that mean ?" asked Mr. Justice Teet-
zel, before whom a motion was made
last week for payment out of the
amount. Mr. Featherston Ayles-
worth explained that the Scottish in-
stitution referred to maintained a
mission in Canada.. "What !" re-
marked his Lordship, in surprise.
"Are Presbyterians, in Scotland, still
sending missionaries to Canada? "Yea,
my Lord," was counsel's reply. "One
conies out here once a year for
several months." Id view of this in-
teresting information his Lordship
granted the order for payment out to
the trustees, Messrs. Geo. Forrest,
Daniel Clarke, John Morrison and
Wm. Matthewson, all retired farmers
near Lucknow. Very few people had
any idea, that it was necessary to
send missionaries from Scotland to
Lucknow.

THAT AWFUL DEPRESSION
Which Mrs. Grenery experienced is
but the story that thousands could
tell of their sufferings from Dyspep-
sia. Dr. Von Stan's Pineapple Tab-
lets is the Panacea.
"I have proved Dr. Von Stan's Pine-
apple Tablets to be the only effective
remedy for my dyspepsia. I have
used most everything I could hear of,
but these tablets "touch the spot" and
take away the awful depression and
distress'in almost quicker time than it
takes to tell it, You may publish this
that all sufferers from Indigestion and
Dyspepsia may find the relief I did.
