A large number of Forester's attend-
ed the funeral of the late Edward Bell
at Londesboro on Saturday. Deceased
was one of the hest known horsemen
in the county of Huron.
Mr. Stephenson purchased two acres
of land from Adam Wettlauffer and ,
will proceed to build his carriage
works there ; his staff of men is busy
preparing the foundation.
On Sunday, Nov, 11th, Rev, Martin
of Exeter declared the pulpit of St.
Andrew's Church vacant. There have
been five applications from ministers
desirous of receiving a call froth the
congregation.

Wawanosh Fire Insurance Co., made

We regret to learn of the sudden
death of Mrs. David McGill in East
Wawanosh, Deceased had been sick
about a week with an attack of con-
gestion of the lungs and on Wednes-
day and Thursday of last week be-
came worse, and passed away Thurs-
day- night. Mrs. McGiIl was born in
Hullett township, her maiden name
being Isabella A. Riddell, and she was
married to her now bereft husband
10 years ago. During their married
Iife they spent o ears in Blyth and
11 years in Eitst Wawanosh, By their be
Belmore.

Mr, Jas, U Horton, son of Lakelet
(nail -carrier, was ordained as an Epis-
copal minister at London. recently.
AIr. Horton's college career has cer-
tainly been a brilliant one as he was
there but a short time and he entered
with but a fair pabiie school examin-
ation.
Amos Willis has sold his faxen on
the Oth con. to Fred. Taylor for the
sum of $4000. We understand that
Fred,. intends to build a new house on
the farm in the spring. Mr. Willis
has purchased Mr. Taylor's new house
on Martin street, Gerrie, for the sum
of $700.
On Wednesday Mr. Henry' Gal-
lagher undertook to break a colt in.
After harnessing it he attempted to
back it out of the stall, hut the animal
not being accustomed to harness be-
came ugly and threw Mr, Gallagher,
falling on his leg and fracturing it
midway between the knee and
ankle.
Not uuexpectedly came the message
to Mr. Jas. Barr, who was summoned
to the Land Beyond, last Sabbath at his
home on the Oth con., in his 68th year.
Re moved to Howick township with
his parents when a boy and resided
here till he parted this life. He was a
kind and obliging neighbor, a loving
husband and father and possessed
any qualities of head and heart that
von hizn many friends, His end was
peace.
About 5.30 in. on Monday the

the members of the Methodist Church
met at the home of Mr, Jos. Hall and fi

hers of the Trustee Board of the
church. Mr. and Mrs. Hall made suit- o
able replies, gratefully acknowledging M

whom they have lived so long. Short
speeches were then given by Messrs.
Trimble, Luras, Lowry and Collins, alt I
expressing their appreciation of the
services rendered by Mr. Hall, not B
only to the church, where, at various
times, be has held the most important
offices, but also to the entire com-
munity, where his honesty and inte-
grity were known to all. Mrs. Hall's
work as a member of the Ladies' Aid
was also highly commended. Mr.
Hall has lived near Belmore for over illforty years. He intends removing to is
