—We have heard of lightning ex-
tracting teeth without causing pain
and doing several freaks that might
almost rank as miracles, so when the
following report reached us from Car-
gill we didn't grow dizzy with excite-
ment, but just noted it down as a very
ordinary occurrence. The report went
on to say that lightning struck the
chimney on John Clancy's residence
and carne out of the stove -pipe hole,
ripped one hundred yards of plaster
from the ceilings of three rooms, bored
a hole in the floor about the size of a
man's first, entered the parlor, burn-
ing a portion of the carpet, travelled
out into the hall and rip the balister
of the stairs and made its exit through
one of the upper windows. Two
women were in the kitchen at the
time of the accident, but no one was
hurt.—[The Bruce Times.
