Bronchitis
" 1 have kept Ayer's Cherry 1'ec-
toral in my house for a great many
years, ft Is the best medicine in
the world for coughs and colds."
J. C. Williams, Attica, N. T,
All serious lung
troubles begin with a
tickling in the throat.
You can stop this at first
in a single night with
Ayer's Cherry Pectoral.
Use it also for bronchitis,
consumption, hard colds,
and for coughs of all kinds.
Three sheet 265., enough for an ordinary
0014; 80c., just right for bronchitis, hoarse.
noes hard colds, etc,; 51, most economical
for chronic cases and to keep on baud.
J, O, AYER CO., Lowell, Mass.
DOES IT PAY TO BUY CHEAP ?
A cheap remedy for coughs and
colds is all right, but you want some-
thing that will relieve and euro the
more severe and dangerous results of
throat and lung troubles. What shall
you do? Go to a warmer and more
regular climate ? Yes, if possible ;
if not possible for you, then in either
case take the ONLY remedy that has
been introduced in all civilized coun-
tries with success in severe throat and
lung troubles, "Boschee's German
Syrup." It not only heals and stimu-
lates the tissues to destroy the germ
disease, hut allays inflammation,causes
easy expeptoration,gives a good night's
rest, and cures the patient, Try oNi
bottle. Recommended many years by
all druggists in the world. You can

W, M. S. CONVENTION OF THE
WINGNAM DISTRICT.
The annual convention of the W. M.
S. of the Wingliam. District was held in
Wiugham Methodist church, on Thurs-
day, May 22nd, 1002. Oa Weduesay
evening a publio meeting was held, when
addresses were delivered by Mrs. Mo -
Meehan, president of the Conference,
and Rev. A. G. Harris of Lucknow, the
choir of the ohuroh furnishing music
for the evening,
Mrs. MoMeolrarr in her address review-
ed the worst done by the the sooiety in
general, and of the Wingham District,
during the past year' Total amount of
money raised, $6,207.74; by Wingham
District, $373,06; 11 Auxiliaries in this
district. In speaking of the grand ad-
vancement made in Japan she empha-
sized our duty in caring for the new
converts there, At a recent executive
meeting of the society six new workers
were sent out and placed in the foreign
field,
Rev. Harris says the Women's Mis-
Bionary Society is an inspired work; the
women who first commenced the work
wore inspired. The work was inspired
for the sake of women, it has enlarged
their outlook, and it was inspired for the
sake of the work of God, for this soolety
has greatly advanced God's work
throughout the world.
A collection was taken, amounting to
$4.05. Rev. Paul of Brussels . closed
with prayer.
Thursday morning session. opened at
9.30 a, m. by singinghymu 561 in Metho-
dist Hymn Book. Mrs. Dr. Towler of
Wingham read the scripture lesson,
Psalm 66; prayer by Mrs. Ball. The
minutes of the last convention were read
by Mrs, (Rev.) A, I. Brown, District
Sect'y and adopted, Singing hymn 108.
Roll call and reports from the auxiliaries
reprented and good reports received from
each.
A paper "Who Are We" was read by
Miss Blake of Ashfield. She said: We
women were first entrusted with the
message to the church, we are workers
to whom God has entrusted time, talent
and means. Are we making the best
use of these? We must arouse from our
indifference and search our own hearth,
seeking to know what our work is. The
missionaries cannot be clothed and fed
by our sympathies and prayers, they
need funds.
A paper "What are we Doing"? Was
road by Mrs, A. J. Lowry, Brussels,
Tho society of the W. M. S. was organ-
ized in. 1881, we have now 729 auxiliar-
ies; 172 members. She ably pointed out
the work done in school and missions in
Japan and China and in the India work
in B. 0.
Nomination of District Organizer by
ballot was unanimously in favor of Mrs.
R. 3, Cuyler, Whitechurch. S. Kew of
Whitechurch was elected as District
Sect'y for the coming year. The con-
secration service was conducted by Mrs,
A. I. Brown of Whitechurch and the
morning session closed with benediction
pronounced by Mrs. R. 3. Cuyler.
The afternoon session opened at 1.30
p. m. opening exercises conducted by
Mrs, (Rev.) Holmes of Brussels. Sing-
ing "Cast thy bread upon the waters".
Prayer by Mrs. Cuyler. Scripture les-
son, 91 psalm. Hymn 188. The minutes
of morning session wore read and adopt-
ed. In. the absence of the Kincardine
delegate the subject '-United Study of
Missions", was discussed. Mrs. Morton
suggested that we pledge ourselves to
study missions 10 minutes each day.
The book "Via Christi" was discussed.
Solo, "Are you a Reaper", was sung by
Mrs. (Rev.) Vance of Bervie.
A paper "Encouragements from
Japan" was read by Mrs. Hogg of
Wiugham. 40 years ago Japan was a
nonentity in commerce. 80 years ago
the Bible was printed in secret. In the
1st 6 months in 1901, 90,000 Bibles were
sold. There are 43,000 native Protestant
Christians now. There were only 10
natives baptised in the 1st 12 years, but
God is marvellously pouring out his
spirit in Japan at the present time,
A paper on "The Reflex Influence of
the W. M. S," was given by Miss M. J.
McKee, Gerrie. 1st. Inflaeutle on the
Foreign World. The homes and schools
for caste women in India are doiug a
good work. Women only eau do the
work foawonion in many foreign lands.
and. Influence on Homo church. The
church is a home as well as a school. A
church deaf to missions is a dead church.
The church can he awakened by know-
ing her duties, site needs to have a look-
out on the world. She needs to abandon
her ocoasional missionary service and
let all be Missionary service and lot all
be missionary. 8rd. Individual Bless-
ing—we are blessed intellectually and
financially. 4th. Spiritual Blessing—
what we are in, we will pray for. The
study of missions leads us out of our
own selfish interests.
Round Table Conference was conduct-
ed by Mrs. R. J. Cuyler.
The Mission Band work was taken. up
by Mrs. Field of Toeswfyter. The work
among oar 1 oys anti girls is highly
impprtant. No auxiliary can afford to
do without a band. Active interest is
based on knowledge, The band ought
to be an inspiration to auxiliary workers
to do their bust, as the children follow
the example of those older,
A paper on "Tho Missionary Work of
the E. League" was read by Mrs, Pat-
terson of 13elgrave. The luisaionary
cause involves tiro whole object of E, L.
work; our motto "Look Up" menus
vision and having been ourselves refresh-
ed we must "Lift Up" others. Looking
up recognizes our dependence in Goel.
I1 a League is a true one it will be
thoroughly missionary. Trow to make
the E. L. effective es a missionary. How
to make the E. L. off active as a mission-
ary force? By power of faith, prayer,
deeper study, systematic anti liberal
giving. The "fray, Study and Give,"
plan is a geed one, Personal interest in
Henle one missionary will 1uoreas:l all
interest in missions.
Onv Ootnrtr'y's Foe.—Prayer meeting
led by Mrs. Ball of Wingham. Collec-
tion was taken up amounting to 0,05.
Donation $5.00 from a friend. "Echoc1
from the Great Convention," Mrs. (Rev. )
A, G. Harris of Lucl;now, This conven-
tion showed the grip missionary work
had on our students.
The afternoon session closed by doxol-
ogy and benediction, pronounced by
Mrs, R. J. Cuyler.

Dr, Hamilton's Pills Cure Constipation,
MAKE YOUR OWN SOAP.
Here is an -idea, obtained fromiWm,
McCrae of Guelph, that may be useful.
"There is no reason," said he "why far-
mers should not provide their own hard
soap, just as in the old days they pro-
vided their own soft soap. The making
is a very simple matter. The ingredi-
ents are:—
"Four pounds caustic soda,
"Eighteen pounds ordinary grease,
"Five pounds resin,
"Pint of salt,
"Half teacupful borax,
"The caustic soda and grease are put
in a pot together with just enough water
to nicely cover them. This mixture is
allowed to simmer over a slow fire until
the caustic soda has operated on • the
grease. Then add the rest of the water,
the salt, the borax, and boil. The rosin
is added when the mass begins to thick-
en. That will make the finest quality
of hard soap, and it will keep three years.
You can make fancy toilet soap, equal
to the best you can get in the drugstore,
by adding a little scent."
•
Completely Fagged Out.
Tho world is full of sickly, despondent,
tired, enervated people, all hopiug to be
well some day. Tho surest road to
health is along the way of taking Ferro -
zone after meals. Forrozoue is a great
appetizer and enables one to eat plenty
of wholesome food without fear of in-
digestion or dyspepsia. This result in
the rapid formation of an abundance of
red, vitalizing blood, which will restore
the nerves, increase flesh and vigor, and
nourish and feed every organ of the
body. Ferrozone is an ideal restorative
and invigorant. It is a tonic of unequal.
merit that anyone can use with benefit.

Four years ago Reeve Coyle of Col-
borne purchased an orchard containing
ton acres. The price was $2,600, The
crop gathered from that orchard in 1900
netted, after all expenses were paide
$2,130. Mr. Coyle made the following
statement at au orchard meeting in
Colborne recently :—"I shipped 800 bar-
rels of apples from my orchard two
years ago. The dealer to whom I con-
signed them said they were the best
apples he had ever sold in the Liverpool
market. There were not five barrels of
wormy or scabby apples in the lot. The
superiority of this fruit was due to the
fact that I had persistently cultivated
the orchard and pruned and sprayed my
trees.
Cramps are Like Burglars
They come unexpected and when least
welcome, Be armed with a ono -minute
euro in a bottle of Nerviline, which re-
lieves cramps and stomach pains in five
minutes. In Colic, Summer Complaint,
Diarrhoea, Indigestion and Nauser, Ner-
viline is a remedy of remarkable potency,
and acts promptly and satisfactory at all
times. The composition of Poison's Ner-
viline expresses the highest medical pro-
gress of the age, which accounts for its
superior merit. Price 25c.
