Next Sunday will be a. notable day

J. L. Murray, D. D., of Kincardine.
In the dining room, where the Inticheon
was served, the table with its decora-
tions of pink and white carnations,
smilax end shaded lights looked very

Toronto, after which they will go to

The following is an extract from a,
letter recently received from Fred, J.
(loodhety, formerly of Wingbatu, now
serving in the &mat African Ounstabil-
laty. The letter was written on Xmas
day at Krieinutiontein, Trensvaal.
In giving a deseription of the trans-
porting or trekkitig, he says :-We, bad

Dec. 10th. I must say he was one of

where he died in Thanbanchu cemetery
a most beautifal place. He was laid
to rest under military honors and I

Dick's death makes 9 per cent. of 'Mr
troop dead ; 7 per cent. of them died of
diseases and 2 per cent, killed on the

In reply to Citizen, we may say, that
Sections 84 to 80, Consolidated, By-
laws of the town govern the matters
to which he refers. Sec. 84 provides
that loaves shall be two and four
pounds weight. Sec. 86 states that
loaves must hold their weight twelve
hours after being baked. Sec, 87
makes it the duty of the Chief consta-
ble to inspect and weigh bread offered
for sale, and seize pinch as is under
weight. Sec. 88 provides for t•he dis-
posal, of the seized article. The By-
laws goveening the matter may he
seen by Citizen at the ofiece of the
