Dr. William Sloan, a former, Blyth
phAcian, died at his home in Parkdale,
on Sunday night. Deceased left Blyth,
where he had ee eery large practice, in
1591 and went to Toronto, where he has,
since resided at 191 Dunn Ave.
Be took his degree from Victoria College
in leee. Pot some years Dr. Sean was
physician to the old Central Prison, then
on Strachan Avenue. Dr. • and M r s .
Sloan celebrated their diamond wedding
on March 4, 1919. Dr. Sloan .was for
many years, one of the most active work-
ers in connection ellith Dunn Avenue
Presbyterian. Church. Deceased was in
his 90th year. Service was held at the
home on Tuesday night. The funeral
took place from the Presbyterian Church,
Blyth, on Wednesday afternoon.

for 1922. The putting down of perman-
ent roads in Winheam has been fairly well
started this year, but there is still a couple
of streets which the ratepayers have re-
quested and when the last year's mayor

acclamation to finish this work why
should there be a fight for the reeveship
when that position is the nest important
for the carrying out of this work? What
man of us would let an old and tried serv-
ant go when he had a big job on hishands,
simply to,give a new man a chance to
