One of the ,se conveyors consisting of a short, wide ClAnvall be%, ou which test the heads of the oss. Two belt is only the length of the Sood t" Britt dumPs uny loose Pods ft6d ItAto 4 %in, at the end Of its travel. th,6V*tqW, of this bin is a pair otPit, able rollers which Cmsh any pods dis- charged Irom the seed table and incident- allybandle the swee'0111P from the floor. The second conVeyor of the feed, table is made up v.&h a numbeir of narrow belts - At the end of the feed table another set of soctional belts coilverge with the first set, and thus the flax sterm find themselves firmly held and carried in this manner through the machine, In the first operation the flax is carried over the large drumo Where, small section - at and staggered rollers bear down on the heads and break UP the pods. Next the heads are passed over the table, where a number of beaters befit On the flax. This opens up any pods which ntaY have been I crushed by the rollers but which, through dam 'It open out and free the jeed!"TTieltramwols then carried on to a third operation, where a mimber of to- c1procating arm$, mOvitig in alternate opposition direction% Open Out the buds and give them a thorough shakitim This allows any loose seed . or -chaff that may still be lodged among the straw, to fall out. So. in this manner, absolutely clean and well -threshed straw is delivered to a binder table. It is then neatly butted, firmly tied and delivered ready to go to the retting field. The whole of the chaff and seed, also any short, tangled straw resulting from the threshing, as well as that delivered by the small auxiliary threshing rollers at the end of the feed table is gathered on a grain deck, where it is all carried to the rear end of the machine. There, by pass- ing over a suitablg grating, the chaff and seed, and with it very short broken branchesof the heads of the flax, pass through to an elevator which coftveys this to the cleaner. Any short, tangled straw that may have, come down onto the grain deck during the process of thre4hifig, is carried over the grating and delivered clean at the side of the toothine, oplioolt:6 to that of the seed delivery. The chaff and seed carried to the cleaner by means of the elevator, is delivered first to a set of boards so designed so as to evenly spread the substance over the first screen at the beginning of its travel, thereby making full use of the screen area This first screen takes out all the small: broken branches that have got through, and which give usually'so much trouble in choking Up screens. The flax is then throughly cleaned by a set of accessible and suitable arranged perforated zinc screens and wind -blast, Sand, dirt and smaller seeds than flax are also taken out, A second small suction fan gathers all the chaff and delivers it by means of piping to where it is required, at any rate away from the thresher. This last suction fan; before delivering the chaff , passes the air through a special chamber, so designed as to gather any seed which might havt got blown through in the proews of claiming. This seed is returned i to the cleaner and has to pass through the 20 lbs best Oatmeal ........................... .......................... 98c 5 lbs best Oatmeal ............... ......................................... 25C All Laundry Soaps, 6 for ................................................. 50C Corn.
