The monument itself is on a concrete
foundation; is of best Canadian granite,
surmounted by full-size figure of a soldier.
The whole stands 16 feet above the base.
At the feet of the soldier appears the
names of the 19 men who gave up their
lives. On the sties appear the names of
the principal battles in wbith they were
engaged. At the back is a wreath and
the dates of the war. The figure of the
soldier is in full trench equipment depict-
ing a man just ceming out of the line. He
hag received a letter from home and
stands in meditation.
