There was a very strong wind blow- .
ing and it was impossible to save

lumber. It was with great difficulty
that Mrs. Peck's house nearby was
saved, her barn behig burnt with the
'contents. The strong -wind prevailing
at the time carried blazing embers a
great distancet setting fire to, Mr.
Willia,na Harrison's bavn on the
Sauble Line, which was also destroy-
ed with all Its contents. Mr. Jowett
and Mr. IVIustard have suffered much
loss, the former having vonsidefa,ble
machinerydestroyed and Mr. Must-
ard machinery •and a large amount
of lumber. The insurance recently
expired and had not been renewed. The
cause of the fire is. unknown.
