sold a span' of working horses to Mr.
Currey of Goderich township at a

Mrs. "Jas. Straughan had a very
narrow escape on Toesday of last
week when the horses ran Away with
the hinder, upsetting it and throwing
Mrs. Straughan off on her head. She
received a few bruises, but no dam-
age was done, only a few slats brok-
en on the binder. .
Miss Mary Cornish returned home
on Thursday to Ripley.
Mrs. Davidson of Goderich is visit-
ing in this locality at present.
A very pleasant evening was- spent
at the home of Mr. Wm, Moore when
quite a number of the young people
gathered and tripped the light fan-
tastic until the early hours of the
