By Shawn Loughlin
The Citizen
The Londesborough post office,
located in Radford's Farm
Equipment on the hamlet's main
street, will be closing at the end of
the month.
Those with boxes in the office
have already been notified of the
closure and have been instructed to
change their mailing addresses to
their street address for delivery to
new community mailboxes. A
location for those boxes has yet to be
determined.
Those who live in Londesborough
will be given boxes in the new
community mailbox structure, while
those on rural routes or with
convenience boxes will receive mail
to their home mailboxes or will have
to rent a mailbox at another area post
office.
The Citizen will report further
details regarding the closure and

My granddaughter stopped by last
week to tell me what a great
experience it was to be part of "Loud
and Proud". I thought I would share
this school event with readers.
To celebrate May Day, 15 schools
in the Avon Maitland District Board
took part in a band instruction and
performance event at Northwestern
Secondary School in Stratford. This
was another example of how
education has changed in recent
years and how fortunate pupils from
Hullett Central Public School are to
have instruments/music program in
their school to broaden their
experiences.
The day began with a mass
performance of one of the tunes
they all had been practising in
preparation. Then student musicians
went to class/sectional instruction
for their particular musical
instrument with expert musicians to
learn finer points of playing.
Seventeen musicians from Grades
5 - 8 at Hullett were part of the mass
band of 480 pupils that entertained
the audience in the evening. How
thrilling it must have been for family
members to be treated to "Hooked
on a Feeling", "Bringer of Joy" and
"Happy". The pupils also did hand
actions and some singing. The mass
band was conducted by Andrew Gill.
Each of the 15 schools played a
solo number as well. Hullett
presented "Boot, Scoot and Barn
Dance" directed by Sue Barnett. My

actions to it.
Mary and Clayton's message to
the congregation was "Pass It On"
They first gave a big thank you to the
congregation which supports the
camp. The congregation supports the
camp by donating to the bursary
fund which is for children who can't
afford to pay for camp. They also
thanked the UCW for sending
cookies and craft supplies.
Last year 700 students visited the
camp during the month of June.
Summer camp gives the campers a
chance to put down their devices and
learn to live with others and with
nature.
Mary told the story of the
bandage. A little girl had her eye
swell up and she went to the
emergency room in Goderich to
discover that she had been stung by
a bee. The doctor told her to put a
bandage on it and the swelling
would go down and the stinger
would come out. She didn't want
anyone to see the bandage so she
covered her left eye with her hair. It
wasn't long until her whole cabin
were wearing a bandage or a sticker
along with her and before long half
the camp either had a bandage or
sticker under their left eye. The girl
soon tucked her hair back behind her
ear and joined in with everyone else.
Sometimes it takes a lot of
bandages for the camp. The camper
had written a song while there and
sang it to the campers at campfire
one night. Pass it on.
The offering was received
followed by the offertory response
"Your Work, 0 God, Needs Many
Hands" the offertory prayer, the
prayers for the people and the
singing of the Lord's Prayer. Mary
and Clayton sang the Camp
Menesetung anthem followed by the
benediction and the singing of the
response, "Go Now In Peace"
Everyone was invited for coffee and
treats.
