The decision followed the presentation of a report from Clerk Richard Al that showed that North Huron has some of the lowest per - meeting rates, but highest honoraria for council. Looking at only the bottom line can be misleading, however, as Al points out. "It is difficult to set a standard as municipalities pay differently," he said. "North Huron's honorarium covers two meetings per month. Other municipalities give an honorarium and then pay a per diem for those meetings." The annual honoraria council receives includes $9,980 for Reeve, $7,879 for Deputy -Reeve and $6,828 for councillors. Those numbers are all above the county average (minus Goderich, who pays significantly higher honoraria).
